At 4 years, Marner would get 8.5 million, as it doesn't buy a year of UFA

No thanks to Gardiner for four years and at that money. Rather just keep Ceci for a year.

Adjusted the trade as I forgot one of the picks going to COL. And as an Avs fan, I agree, I do not want Ceci...but they are a team that has cap room and a hole on RD unless they want to start 2 of TImmins, Connauton, Barberio, Byram or Graves...3 of the 4 if EJ cannot start the season. Would rather just try to sign Gardiner ourselves for a short term deal.

Lower term and salary for Gardiner to something more realistic if he really wants to limit himself to the Leafs.

Lowered Marner's salary as well, though I am not sure he would accept it.
