No doubt Kucherov easily gets 11 in a big market, so he took around 1.5 less on his deal here. He has left several million on the table though between the discount he took on his bridge and his current deal. Stamkos was going to make 10 in Toronto easy, took the 8.5 to stay here. Not to mention, none of these players got those paydays right after their elc's ended, and neither will Point just because of 1 big year. The primary reason is that the Lightning won't pay it, the 2nd reason is because Point values winning a cup and keeping the core group together more than bleeding the Lightning dry. 3 years at around 7.5, or 5 years around 8 or slightly above. If he's willing to sign for 8 years I could see 8.5 or maybe 8.75 if Tampa makes some small moves, but it doesn't sound like either side may be looking for an 8 year deal right now.
