honestly i don't know if "acceptable draft picks" exists for carolina this season. they're planning to compete--they'll probably want some help in the middle six if they're shipping faulk.

I like this idea, I have been trying to think of what makes sense.
The issue I see is the expansion draft.

I am dead set on wanting DeMelo signed as UFA next year.
That makes him, Rielly and Dermott the 3 D man to protect.

Trading for Faulk I like, but how does he stay a Leaf past his extension?
I wanna pair Dermott with Liljergen and Sandin with another veteran D man.

May have to wait till after expansion draft to add that guy and go short term till than.

I fully expect the leafs to keep Barrie unless it's a disaster

I think Barrie is gonna be getting too much $$$.
Would have liked to get under a deal like Ellis but only after how he plays on this team.

He might be the best option long term on the right side though
