Because there are about 10 other teams in serious cap crunch too...Toronto, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Winnipeg, San Jose, Las Vegas, Nashville, NYR, Edmonton, etc. etc. etc.

Don't know why they signed Panik AND Haglin. They should've picked 1

They re-upped with Hagelin on 6/16, before free agency started. Couldn't have predicted Panik would be available yet, at all, let alone for the same price tag. Some years, free agency starts, and prices actually go up, rather than down.

At least they should have a really good checking line, and an improved penalty kill, even if they end up having to waive Copley and only carry 22 guys until someone gets hurt.

I'm okay with it. Panik has some offensive upside. And they have literally no forward prospects who are close to NHL ready.
