Description

Remember: Manning in minors is 1mil hit, so the Rags save 2mil here. Enough to get DeAngelo done at the price he likely commands (2.5-3.5 mil range short term, 4 mil long term).

IMO things are shaping up for the oilers to be able to get a decent middle six LW over the course of camp and the first weeks of the season. A player with one year left on their deal may just take a 3rd/4th and a little cap going the other way or not depending on the salary level.

OR, a trade of Pulju, if he keeps up a ppg pace in Finland, or one of the B level good D prospects (Bear, Lagesson, Day etc) and that same pick, for a player with a bit of term left on their deal (like a Hyman).

We will see. If a guy who could dependably get around 35-40 points on Nuge and Neal’s line can be found, it could give the roster at least a chance to be competitive for a wildcard if goaltending is average.

Like I said in my description, Manning is essentially a non-roster player, he is put in the AHL for a 1mil cap hit. If you’d rather I’d do nam at 2 mil retained for the 3rd instead, same difference money wise its just this trade I proposed includes an exchange of contracts to even out the 50 man roster aspect.

I've made this same Namestnikov trade on here before and it still makes sense for both teams but people just don't get it, always the same comments like: "Rangers don't want Manning" or "You gotta pay to dump Manning", it's like they just don't bother reading or just don't get it, I think it's a bit of both.. Lol
