I honestly don't know why people think we need to make a trade when it is so abundantly clear we are fine

Only issue is the fact we only have one scratch. But we are sticking with one scratch unless: We trade Hyman, Replace him with Kappy on J.T/Marner line, Replace Kappy with Bracco as third line RW.
And even then i'm still feeling good.

A 21 man roster and no cap space is not fine.

I'll really don't think a 21 man roster is good long term. A trade might be necessary. But if the trend is for top RFAs are to get UFA money, a reduced roster and roster shuffling between the NHL and AHL might be the norm in the league.

It is under the cap and it is feasible with MLSE's resources. Yes it is.

Officially LTIR is set, what happens when you have more than one injury happen after hyman/dermott come back? ltir is set, you cant readjust ltir.

That one spare draws in? If it is enough to go on the IR then you can call up a player no problem, otherwise in a short term scenario you just roll with a short roster. One game where you have to play AM and JT 22 minutes instead of 19.5 won't kill them.

Why not? Cup contenders with cap problems is a thing that will always exist in a salary cap league. I'd rather have a 21 man roster and no cap space with your core locked up while being a legit contender than having two fringe players in case of injury, where you can then give someone like Bracco a shot.

It is under the cap! MLSE can pay!

It’s still a 21 man roster with no wiggle room. Teams tend to not run with that.

Teams don’t think like this. There’s a reason why no one does this. Someone told me that Carolina ran with 21 for a couple weeks last year. I didn’t look into it, but Jersey tried it a few years ago after signing the kovalchuk deal, and a few weeks later they had a game where they couldn’t dress a full roster because they didn’t have enough room. It didn’t go well. I just think it’s more likely that Toronto will try to do what every team does and go with at least 22, but probably 23.

Okay? I think what teams tend to do isn't really a consideration for MLSE.

would imagine the leafs will manuever with bringing up/sending down players on the marlies as distance isn't an issue. could also see ceci getting buried at some point (lol) if he doesn't play well (since it'll clear out about $900,000).

Sometimes the marlies play on the road. Sometimes the leafs play on the road

You did lol. I said MLSE can make it work and you replied other teams don't like to do that. I responded that MLSE doesn't care what other teams do. Are you sure you are replying to the right posts?
