I like the trade for the Preds for sure, Rantanen is game changer. Unfortunately, a lot would need to happen for the Preds to be able to afford a 10mil player. Turris, Bonino, or Granlund would have to go, too. Ultimately, there's no way the Avs would trade an all-star in division. That trade could haunt them for a decade.

In what world is downgraded Rants to Forseberg who is a 55+ range point winger who has only 3 years left till a UFA worth only a few draft picks

Give your head a shake. giving up 35-40 points of producting, getting older, and only having 3 years till you have to pay what mikko will be making anyways, thats why its a bad trade, think it through
