CBJ wants nothing to do with that deal. They have their own issues to deal with next off season.

I would think if NJ were to move a star player like Hall, it would be to a team in the west

no next year his cap hit is 4 million if he's bought out.
Please stop making things up as you go.
Meanwhile CBJ has to resign PLD, Anderson, Gavrikov, who ever their goalie is, with roughly 21 million in cap space if the cap raises 1.5 million.
So NO, let me make this clear for you since you clearly only think trades work one way. CBJ has no interest at all in taking Backes. That's your mess. They have their own cap concerns.
