Description
Kase + Steel are starting on the IR put Jones and Lundestrom will be up to start the year but I think they're better served to get top line AHL minutes over 4th line NHL minutes once they come back so I put them on the IR to see the lines when healthy.

Getz with Terry and Comtois and Steel with Rakell and Silf will function as a 1a/1b imo which line is treated as the true 1 will be a game to game deal and be match-up dependent.

Ritchie-Rico-Kase played well when together last season and give the Ducks 3 lines that can put the puck in the net. If needed Kase can move up to Getzlaf's line and move a young guy down to spread them out a bit.

4th line will be a 4 man rotation, not much to be said.

I'm curious the see what happens with Lundestrom, the Swede line has looked good in the preseason (Rakell-Lundestrom-Silf) but I feel like that centre spot is Steels when he comes back. and with Jones I can't see him cracking the top 9 when everyone is healthy so SD is the place for him this year

Lindholm-Manson a reliable #1 pair, I hope Eakins can help Lindholm unlock more of an offensive game, and I hope he sees PP time and can hopefully crack 40 points

Guhle-Fowler I feel like this is the best 2nd pair we can put together atm. If possible I'd love to see us add a top 4 RD but I dont see it happening during the season

Larsson - MDZ/Holzer pretty ugly third pairing I wouldn't be opposed to sending Larsson down to avoid playing him in this train wreck of a pairing.

Gibson/Miller - I hope we can give Gibson more support this year, if we can there is no doubt in my mind he'll be in the Vezina conversation. Miller reliable back up can come in and give Gibson needed days off and still gives us a chance to win

I've missed a lot training camp (Friggin' work), but I'm assuming that Hakanpaa didn't impress during pre-season? Was hoping he'd be that big body on the 3rd pairing that would save us from MDZ and Holzer.

I was hoping he’d make it too, I’m hoping they just want to let him take his time adjusting to the NA game and we see him up in about 10-15 games

I think that's the expectation right now. I think if he felt he was going to stay in the AHL long term he would go back to Europe. Seems like he's accepted his assignment for now. He's a bit slower than I would like, but if he can shape up as a stay at home defensmen he could round out that third pairing nicely.

That was the hope, but he struggled to adjust to the north american size rink. He basically looked like a worse version of Holzer. I was intriqued when GMBM signed him. The front office must see something they like in him. But I remain unconvinced. Maybe some time in SD will help him adjust his game

Fingers crossed. His Euro-numbers look good, but there's definitely a pretty significant adjustment that needs to happen when those guys come over.
