Edmundson would be looking for a long term deal. I feel like Carolina would be fine with letting him go considering their depth in that department.

Edmundson can be replaced in my scenario with an under-the-radar value signing in post-Day 1 UFA, or perhaps even Gudbranson's last year in the Staal trade in exchange for a higher draft pick from PIT. The whole idea is a stop-gap option while Bean and Priskie are still waivers-exempt.

It's a question of give-and-take. Would you rather have Nylander, Haula, Bjugstad, Poulin, 2021 Boston 1st, and the mid-round McGinn/Martinook draft picks or Staal, McGinn, Martinook, and the draft-pick package for Nylander? I personally would choose the former. I'm extremely high on Nylander and I think that he would make our second line elite when it's already very good.

Id rather keep Staal ( OUR CAPTAIN) and Marty. Also, id rather have those firsts than Nylander.

Don't worry Detroit isn't giving up a 2nd for Martinook considering they are still rebuilding.

Sorry, but that'd put Pittsburgh over the cap. Also, why would PIT want Staal? An older, more expensive Bjugstad and we give up more assets? Not taking that.
