This trade is off in a LOT of ways. But I'll start with the biggest issue.

Kings won't take a 35 year old with 3 years left. Period.

I wouldn't do this if I'm NYI or LAK.

Isles give up too much for a UFA and a guy they don't really need.

LAK shouldn't take on Boychuk's contract.

Its rare today but a few seasons ago, Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson played together. Besides that, haven't seen it in a while

Only way we'd ever get rid of Boychuk's contract is through 50% retention and/or pick bribery.

I think we're fine on defense, but Toffoli is a young winger with upside who can kill penalties. Absolutely pursue Tofolli. It'll cost a middling prospect and a decent pick, but I think it'd be worth it.

Bellows, Del Colle, and a 2nd is a good haul for Toffoli. Take Martinez and Boychuk out of the trade and you have a deal.
