bring back rass

Initial Creation Date: Oct. 16, 2019

Description
rass has had a good start in the AHL, should bring him up while he is playing good

Something needs to change up front. I think we give rass another shot. He will help the PP more then Erne. Playing well in the AHL might be able to keep it going in the NHL.

Sit green because he is garbage.
Ehn sent down to GR since he is waiver exempt. When next winger gets injured call back svech and play him for a few games.

I would also like to see Cholo and Hronek paired up for a few games

The second line should have Glendening or Filppula at center. They are both very responsible defensively which gives AA and Hirose more room to take chances offensively. While Filppula is better offensively than Glendening, Glendening is much faster than Filppula.

With Rasmussen he had a really rough season because he couldn't play in the AHL because he had CHL eligibility left. So him being in the AHL is as much for his confidence as it is for him to get used to the speed of the pro game. Maybe after 20 games or so.

So do any Wings fans think maybe Rasmussen and Zadina fell for a reason and Wings shouldn't have drafted them?

They way the second line is set up is to basically have Glendening play low in the defensive zone but AA take draws. That line hasn’t done anything yet. And I agree switch DLR for Erne would be good but the way the fourth line is clicking I wouldn’t change it yet.

But yes maybe after a few more games if rass keeps it up they bring him up but we will see. They just need to find ways to score.

A lot of guys fall (Veleno, Caufield are 2 recent named examples) for a lot of reasons. You can make an argument that Hughes should have been the pick over Zadina (though let's look at that in 5 years), but who would you have drafted other than Ras? Draft picks need to be evaluated after 5 years, not 1 or 2 (unless you are picking in the top 2). People in Vegas were calling Glass a bust because he didn't graduate quickly either (and he was picked 6th in 2017), but no one is complaining now. In a re-draft of 2017, you can bet that Hischier and Patrick don't go 1-2 (though, I think Hischier is still a very high redraft pick). I'm positive Makar, Pettersson, and Heiskanen (a 2nd rounder) make up the top 3 picks (maybe Hischier goes 4th?)

I believe Ras is a C. He's probably a 3rd line C in the NHL, playing on the top PP unit, and maybe some PK. He shouldn't come up yet. This is a lost year in DET, let the kids in GR have some success playing together (they should be one of the top AHL teams), build momentum, and graduate next year together. When Ras (and Veleno, Seider, and Zadina) come up next, they shouldn't go back down again (same with Cholo and Hronek who are already up). They should be playing together for a number of years, let them be successful together somewhere first (that's how you build culture).

Cholo and Hronek should be playing together regularly (and they have, it's the 4th most used line combo used by DET this season, Cholo has seen his most time with Hronek this season so far). I can understand the argument against though, as Cholo and Hronek have played a similar style in the past, though Hronek maturing late last year into this year has made him more of a complete Dman. Also, with Hronek's maturing game, he's playing significantly more than Cholo (almost 5 minutes more per game). It wouldn't shock me though, by the end of the season, that Cholo and Hronek are a team (and quite possibly a long term team).
