If Dermott goes to the taxi squad. I don't think he will clear waivers someone will claim him. But there is room to keep him as a scratch. I can see Dermott and Lehtonen being rotated in and out of the line up. Can also see Bogosian taking sideline if not preforming

Understatement even.</div></div>
Rasmussen is far from being a bust. He had a great year in the AHL apart from the injuries he had. His first year in the NHL was to have him not play Junior one more year. Even that for a 19yr old getting 12 mins a game, he didn't play that bad. He's been playing very comparable to others in his draft class.

I just don't see Y going out to spend 8 mill on a D long term. I seem him targeting a younger player that's not to much for a shorter 2-3 yr term. Mcisaac is suppose to be on of our top LD. I do think he will come in and do well. I also cant see Y giving up a lot to get a player like Sergachev unless he can wiggle himself a good deal

Also no point in getting Lundqvist when you're still 2-3 years out from competing.</div></div>
yea no idea on hagg.
but lundqvist is more to reach salary floor and with one year remaining on contract and they could look at moving him at the DTL if need be. He is still good to play but ranger wont need three good goalies. they would just be using him for a buffer year like they had planned for Bernier but Larsson is still not ready. Brattstom could be but would be better for him to have a year in GR.

You'd be better off keeping Dermott and the first rd and have Dermott play on the right side.

I would hope to see the wings go after Rossi or Stutzle if they don't get number 1. I don't think they will get much of a fall back if they pick 4th.
I also think both Rass and Veleno will make the team next year and if wings get Laf. V and Laf will be on the same line with Z

Also when I made this deal, I seriously considered throwing in Glendening. Detroit would trade him right?</div></div>
Glenny would be great for this team but hes well respected with the wings and a good leader. can play on all 4 lines and PK. I think wings would want a higher value because of it but would be like 3rd rd maybe to make it worth while for them. but very affordable player. Helm would be the other that would be good for Carolina. has best +/- for the wings and same style as glenny. But just cant expect them to put up all kinds of points.
For howard with having such a hard season would also like to see Detroit resign him as a good backup rather then signing a goalie with an overpayment and let some prospects develop

I agree I could see howard playing well with a good team. Last year I thought was one of his best years still playing from such a bad defensive team. if both goalies are out for a bit would be a good idea but Detroit would probably help by retaining 50%. But deal would be pretty good

You probably have it set right for now. When Klefbom comes back green will go to the last pairing with Benning on the left and green on the right.
But as a wings fan Green should be riding the pine. He really is not as great as people think watch for all the giveaways and mistakes

I think any team that can pick them up would benefit for the playoff run. Just not sure what teams would be interested in more depth players and solid PK guys.
But I could seen maybe Philly, Colorado or Calgary

Detroit will have a huge amount of cap space next year will all the old guys gone. 1 extra year to retain 2.5 on two guys is nothing in the long run. Referring to a player like Abby or Nielsen then yes it would be a bad idea but not guys who only have one year after this and also low in salary. Detroit will probably over pay on someone next year just to reach the salary floor

hes a player that plays on all lines and C and W. For a value of 900 000 for next year would totally be worth it. His speed and PK would be good for the oilers. and acquiring a 5th I think it would be fair.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wingss</b></div><div>Trade Daley too. For literally a 6th or 7th and I would be happy. Hell sit Nielsen up there too, I don't even notice he's playing most nights.</div></div>
I agree with you trading Daley for a 6 would be good just don't think teams will do it. I think green could catch more of an eye for teams. And yes abby and Nielsen should be out of the lineup but it hasn't happened in the first 60 games doubt it will happen in the last 20

agree. Carolina has no reason to even trade Reimer. Hes also doing better then Crawford this year so wouldn't make sense to add any picks. Reimer is also cheaper and younger. If anything it would just be a one for one. But I think Carolina is better with Reimer then Crawford. Two bad games doesn't mean trade right away. Agree with Lehner being a better option then you can add a pick, but still wont be a first

Are you basing that off how he played last year. It will be nice to see how he is doing once hes back from his injury. He was playing 1C in AHL and was doing really well. 2C for the wings will be between Veleno and Rass. I think either of them could take it. The way the lines are set up would make more sense for rass to be with mantha for net front. And bert would be good with veleno.

Jarry will only become a starter when the expansion happens. Assuming Pitts either save Murray or Jarry. Id assume they stick with Murray and maybe Jarry gets starter in Seattle. So they will most likely sell Jarry to a team in need of a goalie but chances are he will not be a starter for another 2 years. You could look at switching Duszak for Lindgren and a 3rd round pick with a condition to 2nd if so many wins.. but I cant seem them getting a first at all for a backup.

Id love Rass to come up. I think they need him on a PP unit he was playing great in GR just has been hurt. Not sure how bad or how long he will be but I do hope to see him come up when he is healthy. I think having Rass fabbri and AA would be a good line to go with but we may not see that until the end of the year. when Detroit probably starts winning there last 10 games of the season.

Byfield and 19-20 deadline moves keep Athanasiou
I don't know why every one sees only AA at 5M on a 5 yrs deal. He is only 2 pts behind Larkin and he had a 12 game with no points. He is still classified as a 30goal scorer and he started this way last year. He will probably get there again. if he signs a 5M deal it would only be for 1 or 2yrs betting on himself to do better if he doesn't reach 30 goals this year. I would think AA and Mantha will get around the same money but slightly different years.
Also I wouldn't be surprised to see Veleno have a good rest of the year with GR and he will be 2C next year. AA-Veleno and Z should make a pretty good second line. I also think Detroit will probably end up picking 4th or 5th next draft

What do you have against Gaudreau?</div></div>
Gaudreau doesn't know how to pass to his teammates and cant get the puck in the O-zone. He always tries to make a move at the blue line and will lose the puck 75% of the time. Would not want to trade Mantha for him. Let alone miss out on Z and a potential second. Also Detroit does not need any more bottom 6 players in frolik

Hyman is back
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>That is some backwards logic. If he moved to the 3rd pair, he'll be playing very sheltered minutes against lesser competition. Not sure why his +/- would plummet when he is being asked to do less than he is now. I am not a fan of Ceci, however, he's been far better then advertised on here and is definitely an NHL player, definitely not worth 4.5 million and he's absolutely not a top pair defender. That being said, he isn't terrible, just not very good. So if you are moving Ceci, you better have someone who can do as well as he can and Gravelle isn't that good. If Dermot is better on the top pair, takes Ceci's PK minutes and the Leafs want to bring up Sandin to play the left side of the 3rd pair, then maybe you move Ceci for anything but I think unless there is a different move that brings in a better defence, I think you keep Ceci.</div></div>
My logic would be because he will not be playing with a good player saving him. lots of teams will score against him. yes I think him playing less minutes is better for Toronto but I think he will get scored on lots playing with the bottom pair. I don't think he's a bad player either but I think anyone playing less minutes would be fine just doesn't make sense to pay playes over 4M for 10 mins a night. Sandin could get back up but wouldn't be good for his development.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>Having spares is more important than fielding your best lineup? Because lets be honest here, Gravelle looked better than Marincin, he didn't look good. He wasn't terrible and Ceci is better. So freeing up 3 million so we can have 3 guys in the press box is just a waste. What if someone gets hurt? The Marlies are down the road, they can manage. Running a worse roster so you can have spares isn't strategically smart.</div></div>
clearly you have high expectations for Ceci. If he gets moved to the 3rd pairing I bet his +/- goes to **** like all of his years playing. I really don't think Ceci is that good.

Deadline Moves
I really don't see them moving AA or Hirose. If Kuffner keeps scoring and doesn't get a chance again with the wings he may be moved. Id also expect Glendening to be possibly moved as well as Daley. AA is off to a slow start but he can still put up 30 goals this year. Put him along side Fabbri and Perlini and it will come. AA gets about 4 chances a game to score just isn't getting the bounces but I expect it to come soon and that's when wings start winning again
