Sustaining a strong start and improving depth

Description
LA-BUF deal trades two underachieving players on expiring contracts with LA improving speed and Sabres adding a strong possession, 2 way player. Kings defense gets veteran depth. We keep hearing the value Krueger and Botterill place on adding players with playoff (and in Toffoli's case, Cup-winning) experience. As happened with Skinner in his final year, it seems very probable that Toffoli getting a fresh start in an area close to home (he's from Toronto area) will rejuvenate him and rebound.

WPG-BUF deal lets Jets add a top 4 RHD with term and PP experience to fill the holes left by Trouba, Myers and Byfuglien; Sabres add a puck-moving prospect to LD depth chart and a draft pick.

It seems unlikely enough for the Sabres to scratch Sobotka so I'm not expecting them to trade, release or demote him (even though they should).

Pilut belongs in NHL as soon as he's recovered and would be a good partner with Jokiharju.

Gilmour seems like good 7th D to keep for rotations.

Hunwick isn't going to play this year and it looks unlikely that Bogosian makes it back before the New Year. If he does come back healthy, I'd expect him to be dealt at the deadline for draft picks to some contender seeking some physicality.

Even though they are getting the better player rn, due to lack of NHL players on the blueline, Niku is unmovable unless they're getting like McDavid back

WPG trade is horrible for both sides, but mostly the Sabres. The Sabres don't need another RD prospect
