I agree with all of the comments above. Ducks need a player Toronto doesn't have -- and, in fact, Toronto needs too: a young RhD anywhere from Cale Makar or Charlie McAvoy down to Scott Mayfield or MacKenzie Weegar. In particular, Ducks don't need forwards. At LW, Anaheim has Rickard Rakell and depth wings Devin Shore and Nicolas DesLauriers in addition to Nick Ritchie, and are trying out Max Comtois and Max Jones, with Brayden Tracey in the pipeline. At C, Anaheim has Adam Henrique, Sam Steel and the aging-out Ryan Getzlaf, with Derek Grant firmly set on the fourth line, plus Isac Lundestrom and Benoit Groulx in the AHL and Trevor Zegras on the horizon. At RW, Anaheim has Jacob Silfverberg and Troy Terry plus the injured Ondrej Kase, with Carter Rowney pretty well set on the fourth line and Kiefer Sherwood and Damiel Sprong in the AHL. What we need are RhDs. Because the supply of such players is more limited than that of LhD's, and Las Vegas, Toronto and several other teams are looking for such help too, it's unlikely that anyone is going to find a solution unless some GM makes a mistake, which further limits the chances of a GM doing anything.
