Description
Bode Wilde (a top 15 talent in taken at #42 in the 2nd round which had to do with him decomitting from Harvard a few days before the draft. He was one of the best defenseman in the OHL last season, putting up 70 pts in 62 games. He’s a big , fast, physical RHD offensive defenseman that has a ton of upside. But the thing is, the islanders have pulock, Dobson, and mayfield on the right side and they can afford to trade wilde.

Peyton Krebs is a playmaker taken at #16 O in the 1st round. He projects as a top 6 C/W with great playmaking abilities. With Jack Dugan and Cody glass (and their insane F Corp) , think Vegas can afford to trade Krebs for an elite defensive prospect (where they lack depth).

Im pretty sure the value is very close on this trade, it’s definitely not far off, I’m interested to hear some feedback.

In 2 years , yeah lol especially with wahlstrom coming in to the picture.

Vegas fans will probably say no to this because most fans fall in love with their own prospects so it’s hard to be objective

Krebs was also a top 10 talent that fell due to an injury that he's now fully recovered from

I think he wanted to play more games , and the OHL gave him that opportunity.

He was projected to go #12 and fell to 16.

Projected to be a top 10 pick in a pretty good top 15 last June until his offseason injury. Until we see what Krebs can do this season (and possibly WJC) he's arguably on the same tier as Glass when he was taken 6th overall.

Look at rankings from like Jan-March, I'd be surprised if he wasn't top 10, he fell in the rankings too bc the injury, iirc it happened well before the draft (enough time for him to drop in predraft rankings)

Yeah I guess he’s a “top 10 talent” in most drafts but the 2019 draft was stacked I still see the projections were for him to go #11 , #12 before the injury. He’s a great player, obviously.

The only reason I’m proposing this trade is to show two teams trading from a position of strength and possibly addressing a weakness. In terms of potential and ceiling, the value of Krebs and Wilde is pretty damn close.

2019 draft wasn't that stacked tho, very deep, but none of the guys (aside from Hughes and Kakko, and maybe Byram) would have been even considered for top 10 in 2020

99.99% sure he decommitted from Michigan, not Harvard, and it was because his grades weren't quite there.

Yeah, Harvard was right before the draft. Ultimately it was the right decision because he absolutely killed it in the OHL playing for Saginaw spirit. In a re-draft he would go in the 1st rd no doubt
