I like this but if we can get Myers for Kapanen, that's what I'd do.

I presume you mean Philippe over Tyler, and yeah I'd take that too.

Yes I do.
I like DeAngelo though.

If your remove Kapanen, who has to be added to make that trade work?

Probably Kerfoot and a higher pick since he's couple of years older. That line could work as Chytil-Kerfoot-Buchnevich as well...

Honestly I can't see them moving both DeAngelo and Georgiev without getting a mid to top-6 asset in the exchange. Moore and Lemieux are pretty much equal. The first is interesting, but since you don't have that 2020 1st and that 2021 1st in quite likely to be a low one, I wouldn't take this if I were NYR... I'd want my confirmed good level asset in exchange to one...

Hawks would have to say no, way too much cap for our already franchise already struggling in cap hell and with arguably the worst contract in the league.

Not enough for Edmonton. Puljujarvi has more value than Andersson right now and Archibald is one of Edmonton's best penalty killers - and Edmonton has the 2nd best PK in the league. Elmer has zero value - he's an undrafted player who is currently in the ECHL.

Puljijarvi has no value to Edmonton playing in Finland. The longer he plays there, the less valuable he becomes. 6 days to trade him or sign him.

How is it untrue? The longer he plays outside of the NHL, the less experience he gets from playing in North America. The less experience he gets playing in NHL style hockey.

"Puljijarvi (sp) has no value to Edmonton playing in Finland. The longer he plays there, the less valuable he becomes." Untrue. His value is clearly higher now than it was a month ago, and a month ago his value was higher than it was in the summer. After being rushed to the NHL and then bounced around different lines / pressbox / AHL and back again, Puljujarvi needs to catch up on his development. That can happen in Liiga just as easily as the AHL - the difference is that he'd have to pass through waivers to play in the AHL and Holland would never do that because the risk of losing him for nothing is too great. He's also coming off hip surgery, I think the longer he plays in Finland (up to a point, of course) he'll only continue to gain value. Of course if he gets stuck there for 3 years he'll lose value, but I think the situation will be resolved by the 2020 draft or thereabouts.

"6 days to trade him or sign him." Untrue. They can (and should) leave him in Liiga all season.

You bring up a good point, but when GM's see him, they see a guy who couldn't make it at the NHL level, instead of having patience and playing in the AHL, He cried like a baby and went back to Finland. The problem with Liiga is some of the rinks are different size than the NHL, and Liiga is known as a pure offensive league which doesn't really help him develop his game to play like North American hockey, which is why you'd rather him be in the AHL than in Finland. I think it would be beneficial for Edmonton to keep him because they would never get the value a former #4 pick is worth.

That being said, if they don't sign him or trade him, the chances of him ever coming back to North America is less and less likely. He's playing in his home country and just getting more and more comfortable being in Finland.

I'm Finnish and I can safely say to a great degree of certainty that this take is foolish. Liiga is far from being just a pure offensive league. There's also great d-men that have come from there, and the game there is defense-first per se... There might be young talented individuals coming, but without good defense no team is going to be successful here.

Just look at the World Championships for example. Finland won it with their great defensive ability, and we had only two d-men from NA in the team, with neither of them being constant NHLers...

BurgerBoss has already refuted a bunch of this nonsense, so I'm not going to rehash that stuff.

1st, He never refused to go to the AHL. Not once. It was the GM that kept bouncing him around, he had no say in his placement whatsoever.

2nd, when he went back to Finland this past summer, it had nothing to do with the AHL. He couldn't play in the AHL without an NHL contract (which he refused to sign), and even if he had signed a contract he would have had to clear waivers to play in the AHL as he's no longer waiver exempt like most young players (thanks, Chiarelli!) and Holland would never take the risk of losing him for nothing anyhow.

Conclusion: AHL was never a problem for Jesse before this season, and AHL was never an option for Jesse for this season.

Jesse has stated many times that playing in the NHL is his goal for next year and for the future. He just doesn't want to play for Edmonton. This is no different than any other player who has demanded a trade and refused to sign a contract.

#1 I didn't say he refused to go to the AHL, I said he went back to Finland. He wants to be traded because he feels he was treated badly in Edmonton, instead of taking the demotion as a champ, he took it to heart and thought he wasn't given a fair chance (When in reality he was)

#2 He went back to Finland because he felt he was treated poorly by Edmonton's management (even though it was now under new management).

He refuses to play for Edmonton simply because he feels they didn't give him a chance, his reason for requesting a trade is as baby-like as you can get. That instantly slashes his value.
