I'm with ya!! I want Cole too!! (Gerrit not A.J. lol) I just wish our front office would realize this too. There's no reason to get outbid on Cole but we both know Shapiro and Atkins won't take a risk like that. They should go after Betts next year also. Still, Ray intrigues me he should transition well in Toronto and the AL East for that matter, but he only has a year left.

Keuchel would be a good get but I think our front office misses out on him too, plus he's an extreme ground ball pitcher and our infield is young and prove to mistakes so I think his numbers would take a hit on the blue jays.

Wheeler has draft pick comp attached (45th OA if we sign anyone who turned down their QO). I'm not liking our options after that. I don't mind Roark for his durability and consistency, but he's nothing to write home about which is why I like Ray or Fulmer in a trade obviously there's more but I don't want to write a novel lol.

What about the others I listed???

Also heard Wheeler, Orodizzi, Wood, Porcello, and Pineda.

And Ryu.

Keuchel is a bad idea. They need a top tier pitcher even possibly two because they really don't have any pitching aces in the minors.

Pearson says otherwise but I agree we need an ace to lead the rotation right now. We have enough #4-5 we need more #1-2 pitchers. Keuchel would be good but not great he'd be another #2-3 at best but sadly right now would be our ace if we signed himcry

I heard their are not gonna go for any top tier free agents.
Which sucks.

I heard Keuchel is who they will target.

Keuchel would be good but not what we need persay

Can we get AA back?
What you say @Sign_em_up000000 ???

I wish but I doubt he comes back unless he gets fired which is hard to do when your team is good and wins

Pearson might be an ace some day but this team needs two aces right now for this upcoming season. I don't want to rush Pearson into being an ace and truthfully, pitchers are the easiest position player that can be ruined.

Going after two ace pitchers allows the Jays to develop their young pitchers without needing to rush them

Wheeler has draft pick comp attached (#45OA for us), Odorizzi accepted his QO, Wood is to injury prone but a lefty also a #3-4, stay away from Percello plus he wants to stay as far away from the AL East as possible, he probably goes to San Fran or a spacious ballpark were he can pad his stats for his next contract. Pineda could be a good reclamation project.

I'm also in favour of "piggy backing" a couple of swingmen in the 5 spot or with the 26th spot added go with a 6 man rotation. Basically give let's say Borucki/Thornton and SRF/Pannone a start one week and the other tandem pitches in the bp then the following week they switch. Each tandom ideally goes 3-3.5 innings per game before turning it over to the bp. It allows the FO a better opportunity to evaluate the young #4-5 pitchers we have. What do you think?

I doubt AA would ever consider working under Shapiro. The other thing is...who was the owner when they decided not to bring back AA?

Yeah...not happening.

If AA came back he would be the President and LaCava would be GM. That's his right-hand man.

I guess Keuchel is an option...but ground ball pitcher on a team with bad fielders? Not great.

First step is to sign Cole. Worry about the second guy after.

I'd let AA have both roles.

What about Ryu from Dodgers???

AA would be President and he would make Lava a the GM. Ryu is a great #2 but he can't start healthy. I would take a run at him depending on the cost and term though.

If we dont get really pitching to support our upcoming young players we are gonna ruin them OR they will waste away.

Time to spend, even if its little too much.

$350-400mill from us it would be $400 but I would do that 10 times outta 10

My top choice is AA (he understands the market better than most) with Lava a but that's not going to happen anytime soon. Dippolito would give me a heart attack lol. Dombrowski would deplete our farm. I guess really just anyone who's smart but willing to take risks when needed.

I agree. All I was saying is don't write the kid off just yet he has ace potential. (BTW he was the comp pick we got for EE signing in Clevelandwink).

If we sign Cole I would sign Madbum too. He would likely get lit up but he would be worth his contract from his experience alone. Plus he's one of my favorite pitchers.

Now is the time to spend while our young kids are pre arb. We should sign Cole and front load the **** outta his contract. It would probably cost us 7 years $300mill though.

No, he accepted his QO last year so the Dodgers weren't able to issue him a new one.
