So your solution is to downgrade both the defense and forwards?

As a penguins fan who most likely knows more about the present Jack Johnson, can you tell me what exactly is wrong with him? Is it his play or is it his contract or both? I loved him when he played on the Kings, but that was many years ago.

Please point out where the downgrade is. I'd love to hear your thoughts

Shultz to benning is a downgrade. And trading Chucky who is averaging over .50 ppg this year doesn't make sense. Pens basically go from having kessel to now having Matthew Benning

I just want to know. How many people were like WTF you have to get the puck, on that power play?
The puck was sent back, and I think it was letang....who just sat there and looked at it while the CBJ player went and got it.
That was F n awful.
Just piss poor effort tonight.

I'll point it out... the downgrade is here -> Downgrade

You traded away Schultz and Galchenyuk for Benning.
Downgrade to defense is Schultz to Benning. Benning is a slightly physical, 6 D, Maybe more accurately a 6/7 D. Schultz is top-4.
Downgrade to forward is Galchenyuk to nil. No explanation necessary.
What do you need pointed out in either of those?

The 3rd, 5th and 6th barely covers the $2.75M retention, much less a solid player with retention.

Schultz is garbage. Benning is better (at least defensively) than him.

Galchenyuk is one of the worst players in the league no questions asked. Counting stats such as points overrate him immensely. Kessel hasn't been any better either.

I wasn't watching so I don't really know what happened other than CBJ kicked the Pens up and down the ice for the first 40 minutes

Benning is better than Schultz defensively. It's not even close
Galchenyuk is the Penguins worst forward, that's addition by subtraction.

benning may be than joe schultz he cant even sniff justin schultz socks. take contract length out of the equation and the pens would rather have JJ the benning.

Galchenyuk may not be at the top of his game right know but he still has way more value than that,

Do you have any proof to show that Schultz is better than Benning?

Galchenyuk is terrible, I'd take a 5th for him

Being (possibly) better in one aspect of the game (while worse in every other aspect) doesn't make him an improvement. Again, Benning is a 6/7, Schultz is a 3/4. That only address the D if you want it to be worse.

Just because they don't work well for you on PlayStation doesn't mean that they have no value.

The main goal of a DEFENSEman is to play DEFENSE. Schultz is not good defensively. Benning is good defensively. What else do you want me to say?

That you are wrong. Which you are, but I bet you don't admit because you don't even understand it.

I'm not the one that you said that to, so if playing, you lose again.

The laugh was because you demanded proof while offering absolutely none yourself. It's a sad ploy used by people that can't handle that LITERALLY EVERY ONE that responded disagreed with their... position.

From the 16/17-present

Benning 0.017 xGA/60
Schultz 0.032 xGA/60

Benning -0.61 CA/60
Schultz 1.13 CA/60

Benning 0.27 C+/-
Schultz -1.06 C+/-

So there you go, Benning is better than Schultz defensively. Schultz is a low-end #4.

There's nothing that shows that Benning is a pylon. What don't you get?

I gave statistical proof that Benning is better than Schultz defensively, but sure, you can go down that path

No, you gave a couple points of data that showed Benning has "better" numbers in a few cherry picked advanced stats. You gave no proof that Benning is better than Schultz at all.

You can probably cherry pick some advanced stats from the Pens last two Cup runs where Cullen has better numbers than Crosby. Doesn't make Cullen better than Crosby.
