Larkin is not for sale, although, I can't say I would necessarily turn this down right away. Larkin may have the higher upside, as Monahan has pretty much been a 60-point player most of his career. He had a good year last year, but is trending back towards his regular 65-point pace. Larkin also had a career year last season, and is trending to come up well short of that this year, but at two years younger and on a much worse team, an argument could be made Larkin is the better player with the higher ceiling. Either way, Larkin is our clear-cut future captain, so any trade involving him is very unlikely.

That first trade is horrendous for Calgary. Hall for Gaudreau skill wise is a wash, but Hall is a UFA, injury prone-ish, is older, and going to demand at least 10M next year. Hanifin is leagues better than Severson and is only 22. Obviously a 1st is better than a 2nd.

2nd trade will never happen, Monahan and Larkin are similar but Latkin is younger and Detroit is building around him
