Turris

Created by: Eli
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 7, 2019
Published: Dec. 7, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Doubt the Habs accept this, but I think it would help Nashville make the playoffs.

MTL is in playoff position right now, as long as Toronto and Tampa struggle. Those aren't great odds, but it could happen? Or they could trade Price while he's still got some positive value. Rinne without Weber or Subban in front of him looks like a 37 year old goale, but he's cheap. Turris is picking it up a bit, as he gets used to playing wing. Seems to have positive value again, but how much?

Rinne has been better than Price for the last 3 years. He is slipping but still.

Intriguing idea though. Not sure if they want to take on Price contract though.

I would have Price over Rinne, you could replace Rinne with Saros and I'd be chill with it, but i doubt they'd do that

Preds pay two picks for the privilege of taking on the most onerous contract involved?

The cap doesn't work on the Nashville side. Are the Habs retaining 3.5M?

Yeah. It's almost like whichever one played behind PK Subban has been elite....

Schneider was beyond help.

Before Subban, or after him, Price finished top five in Vezina voting once. Behind Subban, he finished top five three times, with one win.

Before Subban, behind Suter and Weber, Rinne finished top five in Vezina voting four times, but never won. Behind Subban, he won.

Obviously PK didn't just hand it to them, but it seems entirely possible he wasn't as bad as you're saying, at his peak, eh?

He was never in the top 4 defenseman on his own team for PK ice time. He has never been much on defense. His game is offense, being physical, agitator.

People think because he plays defenseman is a big name and a star that he’s actually good on defense. He isn’t, adeqaute. EK65 same boat. Great offensively, ok on d.

Yeah, he's not quite the most defensive guy, but he's in a different league from EK.

I'd rather pay Turris $6M for four more seasons, than take on the last four years of Price's contract, at a hit of $10.5M per.

Not really. His physical play helps in his own end which gives him a leg up on EK. But neither are going to win any awards for their defense. Oh wait....they both did. See what i mean about big names and perception? We got President Trump the same way. Name over substance.
