Detroit seems fair. Read some of the other Hall offers on here. I think you're off by Coleman.

Leave Coleman out and you likely have a deal.

In a deal like this I disagree. Rutta has no value to Detroit the only reason he is part of the deal is to make room for Green. Since Detroit is also retaining 50% of Green's cap hit I'd say a 2nd, a 4th and a 6th is about right.

never, old players have no value learn it now or you will never learn it... 2+4+6 what a joke...

Why? You don't agree but you gave no reason for disappointment agreeing.

Really simple:
Value

2nd round pick(same for later picks, they are just much rarer) = possibly jackpot value for 15 years
Mike Green = almost no value for less than 40 games(huge caphit).Even with 50% retained it's big caphit... you rather get a guy like Kreider/Toffoli with those picks even if u have to pay more...

Here is another argument: rentals - see taylor hall trade(established superstar) ---- people thought New Jersey Devils will get Byram + 1st round pick---> result---> only a 1st round pick Byram not even close!!!!! ...(rest of the picks basically bunch of small value things, although 1 Defender maybe hit NHL level, but it's not 100% he will be any good...) Conditions with the other pick will not met most likely... Certanly leaving after the 40x games... and goes to UFA... winnnig playoff round? maybe... 50-50 chance... but they are not experienced... so possibly lower than 50% to convert into the other part 2nd round pick if they win that round in playoffs... most likely 3rd = usually not nhl level player again... = not close to Byram...

Anotha' one: whole NHL going younger and younger each year, over 30 players have not much value anymore... check out the Chicago Blackhawks and the Los Angeles Kings: too old players = no success. When u want to give up high tier draft picks = you want back value overtime... look at columbus last year.... yes they destroyed us in the playoffs... but what happend after? round 2 exit...they are wasted their future for years...
Because they refused to turn value into value before it's too late. 1 season vs multiple seasons value. Bad gm's sometimes useing 1 season all-in... but that's the minority... Green = super short term low value = never a 2nd+4th+6th together draft pick...

Most teams have cap problems this year btw: Green value even lower than usually...
Yzerman can make magic with other players involved/picks/prospects if Green gets traded... like Detroit need to take back a capdump...
But it's never 1:1 Green for 3 picks unless it's 7th round + 7th round + 7th round quality picks... (= 95%+ not NHL players)

BTW Rutta has value... you are also wrong on this... just really slim value ... but still... he plays right now 1st pairing with Hedman vs top opponents.. yes my opinion he is bad... but when u can play top pairing you are not useless for all other 30 teams... yeah i'm sure we are not getting calls on the phone about him in a trade, but if we include him in any trade it's + value... if Rutta got traded for former 1st round pick Koekoekk, then you can trade Rutta again for something.... not rocket science.. not a long time passed since that trade...

So all im saying, if u were really interested: just lower any expectations you had about trading Green, and make it half- in this case you would arrive to from 2-4-6 ->> 4-7-7.
So i hope you understand now, if not, just watch the trade deadline...

BUT IF somehow :
the opposite happens what i wrote, then notifiy me if Green gets traded for insane value, and i'll admit i was wrong big time. Until then, just watch the news smile
and a mediocre prospect never equals 2nd round pick... when u draft someone it has max potential.. after couple years later... teams knows if that said player = goldmine or bust... see Koekoekk for tampa... so i only say that if Green gets traded for bad prospects, you can't just say to me: but he was a 2nd round pick 5 years ago! so we esentially got a 2nd round pick for Green...nope... that's not how it works... a 2nd round pick is only valid if it's in a draft...after the draft it's a prospect(elite/good/mediocre/bad)

TLDR: Green has super low historic value = teams will never overpay or bidding war for him... it's the opposite.. Yzerman will be lucky if he gets some phonecalls... for super low value
2nd+4th+6th = high value package, you can almost say 2nd+3rd which is crazy good for any team in any draft... especially in this year's deep draft... every GM would just hang the phone with an offer like that...
