bold moves for this year and expansion

Description
Jarry has shown he can win as a starter, so its risky to sell on murray, but he has been inconsistent for 2 years now and may lost some of the shine from his 2 cups if that continues. Murray will be seeking 6 mil+ on his next contract even if he doesnt get back to elite levels. Add in the potential of losing him for nothing to seattle and it creates a decision to be made sooner then later.

Getting sid or geno a talented winger for the next 2 seasons is extremely important for the rest of this window to stay open. Rust has stepped up to a top6 roll as hornqvist has faded into a bottom 6. with Kessel leaving and galchenyuk a bad fit, that leaves another a hole in the top6. Getting RNH would fill a need in the top6 and give yet another option for center.

Toffoli as a rental would be giving another option for the top 6 in gambling that he gets back to a high level in a contract year. Losing simon would be a blow to depth, but he is due for a raise and with other rfas mccann, ZAR and kahun already carving out roles, he is the odd man out.

Schultz still has a great powerplay shot and potential for offense but needs to be sheltered and cannot carry the second pairing. With the emergence of Marino, schultz becomes expendable. Given winnipegs glaring need for a RD, and Buffalos abundance of bottom pairing veterans, the trades work for both and leave pittsburgh with a swap of Bjugstad for Roslovic in the bottom 6. Roslovic could prove to be a better fit for the pens as a future 3c. Bjugstad gives the sabres a much needed forward upgrade. everyone wins.

I think with maybe a few picks either way to sweeten these deals, they arent too far off in value.

Koskinen has been great. EDM doesn't Murray in the slightest at the moment...

Matt Murray has consistently shown to be a top 5 goalie in the NHL, and has taken over playoff series in consecutive cup wins. He has also shown to have had a few poor stretches. What he has going for him is, he is still only 25 and most elite goalies don't peak until 28+. Last year, he showed he could bounce back from a poor stretch by dominating the NHL from January on. He could end up being Cam Ward or he could find consistency and be a top 10 goalie every year. Edmonton is showing they are a contender when they get solid goaltending, but when smith and koskinen's play started dropping, so did Edmonton in the standings. They have a shot this year the way mcdavid and draisaitl are playing. these guys are both putting up career years and they would be wise to go for it this year.
