Is only been bad this year. 2017 he had a knee injury for almost all year long play. So there no indication that he is declining since he was the best goalie last year from half november to the end of the season. And by the way that aging curve represents all the goaltender including backup goalie so that no representative at all. Bryzgalov was never a true number one goaltender. As for schneider and quick injury have been in cause. As for giguere is been for most of is career a number two or was goaltending in partnership and did well until is last season with Colorado when he was 37 or 38. So again goalie aren’t affect as much by aging curve like your cheap graphic.
Did you just say Giggy was a number two? Giggy was the 5th player of all time to win the Conn Smythe on the LOSING team in 2003. He played between 53 and 65 games between 2001 and 2008 and was 5th in wins in the league in that time. What the heck are you talking about ?

As a matter of fact he's a pretty damn good comparison for Price
Age 24-30 Giggy was 5th in the league in wins (
http://hkref.com/tiny/1fPL3) and 4th in save percentage (
http://hkref.com/tiny/WoIan). Difference of course is he didn't quite peak as good as Price did (no Hart, but he made it to the finals twice, won once, and got a Conn Smyth)
Price from age 24-30
10th in wings (

Look I've been polite (except for my heck above). I've shown evidence. You are cherry picking players and ignoring general trends. This conversation is going no where. Its up to you to believe what you want. But the fact that all players decline is a fact. The fact that is starts for the vast majority somewhere between 28-31 is also a fact. It isn't 35. If you want to see it for starters check out here (

I'm not trying to be a dick, or rude. It just is a fact that players decline as they age, it includes goalies, and while there are exceptions, exceptions are just that: exceptions to a common rule.
So I'll say it again. Price was the best goalie in the league from about 2014-2017. He was arguably one of the best players in the league. However, since then he has been okay at best. There is a chance its from injuries and ****ty D, but there is also a good chance its aging. Common things being common, it probably is aging. If you want to bet on someone to beat the aging curves, a superstar like Price isn't a bad guy to make the bet on. But I wouldn't spend a top prospect and a first to make that bet AND take on his contract.
