If the Leafs want Dumba they’ll probably have to give up Marner +

Any conversation involving Dumba to the Leafs starts with Nylander.

Dumba would cost more then that garbage, At least Nylander as a starter. No way you're getting Dumba for those pieces.

Honestly Nylander would more then likely get the job done for Dumba.

What happened to JT Brown and his Cap Hit? Did it just magically disappear?

Also Minny is giving up the two best players in Stalock and Dumba and getting the likes for Ceci and Hutch, Kap is having ok season and Lilly is still in minors.

Honestly, why? Dumba hasn't been very good and he's never turned the corner into being a top end defenceman. He's a 25 year old who at times has looked like he could be a top end player but only for spurts. At this point, I am not sure he's ever going to be anything other than a very good depth piece. Best suited on the 2nd pair and sheltered against top competition. Spurgeon has been consistently better than Dumba. I wouldn't give up Nylander for that. I'd still go for him but I am not sure how much I'd pay. he has some term still which is nice. I wouldn't give up Nylander for him though. I think having our big 4 up front makes it so hard to deal with TO when they are on their game. There are few teams who can matchup against the top two lines and if you take Nylander away from that, the drop off between him and Kapanen is drastic.

For me its just isnt a good hockey trade. Both teams are not great trading partners. Dumba needs to find pp time and that is hard to do on the Leafs with Barrie fill the Dumba type role on this team. Any team would love to have him i just dont see the fit with the Leafs. Personally i think the leafs will look for depth in the trade market. Shutdown big body dman and maybe another veteran 4th liner.

I agree with what you're saying, but looking at it from their perspective I'd imagine they wouldn't move him for anything less. That being said, I can't see them trading him right now because they'd likely prefer to sell high if they were to move him at all. I don't see a deal between our two teams that makes sense for both sides but a lot of Leaf fans on here think we can get other team's top players for scraps.

I have no idea what they are going to do with the mess that is their roster and cap situation. Suter and Parise still have many years on their contracts. Its going to be an ugly and long rebuild.

Lafreniere would go along way to speeding up that rebuild tho.
