I think that when the Kings play the Ducks one team should all wear #8 and the other team should all wear #24.
I couldn't agree more but I think they should do a video tribute and take a moment of silence as well. I thought it was classy that the Raps and Spurs ran out the shot clock in honour of the Black Mamba!!! R.I.P... I still can't believe his daughter was on the helicopter too...so sad she had her whole life ahead of her... I just still can't believe it???

I have this terrible feeling that the cause of this accident is going to emerge pretty soon and pretty clearly to be "controlled flight into terrain" -- i.e., the pilot knowingly was flying too low for the visibility conditions. Which makes it a double tragedy: we could much more easily accept something beyond realistic human control like equipment failure than the knowledge that this was simply human stupidity.

I gotta say no disrespect intended but I sincerely hope your wrong on this, this is such a tragedy I still can't wrap my head around it. The guy was only 41 years old and I'm not sure which daughter it was but I believe I heard it was his 13 year old which makes all of this so much worse. They both had their whole lives in front of them. I haven't given it much thought because I'm still in shock but if it was then that is atrocious. My initial thought was that it was caused by a equipment malfunction and I sincerely hope that's what it was because flying to low with all the smoke and pollution is completely nonsensical. Man, I'm still having a hard time even talking about it.
I remember when I was a kid, I had a Kobe jersey #8 and a pair of yellow shorts and every time I played I was Kobe unless they where dirty then I was Carter (not that I was any good) but damn the guy was only 9 years older than me and his daughter was 10 years older than mine... It really puts things into perspective... Such a sad time? I grew up watching this guy. I still remember the game where he dropped 81 points on us in the second half IIRC I always had a chip on my shoulder about it but now I can't help but smile at the complete domination that this guy would display on a nightly basis...truly one of the greats.
I'm sure the kings and ducks will honor him but it never seems like it's enough in these cases, I feel empty inside like when DOC Holliday died.
Sorry for the rant but it's hard to put into words.

Not a rant at all -- a justified message from the heart. Thanks for sharing.
