Safe to say that Frolík wasn’t enough for you?

I was screaming the second the trade was announced. I would have rather taken a 5th round flyer on some kid than Frolik for all of 5 months.

Grow a set and at least send Anaheim the 2020 1st to get their attention. Loading up on every available RHD has certainly worked lol

I don't know how much higher the price would go. Rakell isn't Taylor Hall and he only got a conditional first, a conditional 3rd and 2 b-level prospects if you consider Speers and a prospect close to a wash. I think an unconditional 1st, middle pairing dman and a b-level prospect is pretty fair.

I just would want to top 10 protect it then. Whereas I'll give the 2021 away unconditionally.

Hall is a pending UFA, Rakell has one of the best contracts in the league.

I just don't think Anaheim entertains it because Miller is not a big enough headliner piece, the Ducks are still at least a year or two away from competing so I don't think Miller helps them much at the end of the day. Especially if they're giving up a piece as big as Rakell

I think Miller + Tage Thompson for Kase is a more realistic offer to send. I don't think the Ducks will consider moving Rakell unless it's crazy overpayment

Except why would ANA want to give up on Rackell with out a top 10 pick coming their way, he is their best value forward

Still don't see ANA accepting that offer, Miller has been healthy scratch he's a good third pair D man at at almost 4 million he's stuck between good third pair and not good enough 2nd pair

Part of the reason he's been a healthy scratch is because we have too many defensemen ahead of him who are better - Dahlin, Jokiharju, Montour, Risto are all every game starters.

That leaves McCabe, Pilut, Miller, Bogo for the final 2 spots. McCabe plays every night (even though he prob shouldn't) so that's another spot down. Miller would play every night on a lot of teams, he's somewhere between low 2nd/high 3rd pairing with good PP2 level skills too

Him not stealing ice time lowers his value, I believe Botts figured it was a lock to get top 6 F for Risto which clearly is not the case

Tell that to our ****ty GM. Defense for forward trade should've happened as early as this offseason, but instead Botterill traded a 3rd for Vesey and called it a day
