Domi-Montour trade from a Habs Fan

Created by: Chapee44
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 4, 2020
Published: Feb. 4, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The DeMelo signing is a place holder. He would be an ideal option if a couple of Borgen, Fitzgerald, Bryson and Samuelsson aren't ready yet. I think Borgen and Bryson are the best bets to win the 6th and 7th D spots though.

Our protection list would be: Skinner, Eichel, Reinhart, Olofsson, Domi, Rakell, and Carrier/Lazar.
Cozens, Asplund, and Barre-Boulet will all be exempt. MoJo is a UFA.
Dahlin, Jokiharju, and Risto.
Pilut, Borgen, Bryson, etc. are all exempt. McCabe is a UFA.
Ullmark.
Hutton is a UFA.

Hopefully they take Okposo if he's playing as he'd be their best option despite the contract.

Top six c who averages 55 points per 82 game season vs a top 4 d who average 31 points per 82 game season. Little bit more accurate

I think the trade is decent, however a clear win for Buffalo... That's why I "took it and ran" lol

Not even top 6 just a 2nd line center cause if hes your 1st line center you have problems

I'm still not certain that Rakell is even available but I would think that this would be pretty close to fair market price if he was. It might take something more to make the deal since they probably don't want to move him... I'd take out the conditional draft pick and add Tage Thompson in a heartbeat if that would move the needle.

he put up almost 70 points in his first full season as a centermen at age 23. so no, your assessment is incorrect

Is Barre-Boulet their top prospect? I assumed he was behind Foote, Katchouk, Raddysh, and Joseph... If not I'd much rather have any of those other 4 in the trade... He's an undrafted guy who has put up good numbers but clearly there is something huge missing from his game as he hasn't gotten a call-up yet... That trade was literally a last minute thought ahah

My average of all his seasons is less revealing than his stats from one season? I think you need to go back and learn how statistics work

thats a fine point, but considering his age and position, id prefer to use past years numbers.
