Description
JK....I can see steve dangle doing his trade tree in 5 years....LAK drafts two good guys in the 3rd rounds and Steve talks about how these players could be helping Toronto....

As for this trade helping TO, it does currently...its a fair trade.

What I like about the trade is Campbell seems an immediate upgrade in goal, plus he signed for another two years at a 1.625m per year..

Yes...but TML can't give up 35 shots a game on their back up....not many teams can actually...

Actually its 32.4 shots......which is 9th (worse) in the league. But having 31 shots against....or just just half a shot period per periods but a team is 20th (11th worse). So let's stop the fabrication that the Leafs goaltenders are being bombarded by shots every night.

i think he was talking about the NYR game specifically, not their average for the season

Campbell is alright. He's just slightly above average as a backup, but behind this team defense he will not look like Anderson. LA still has a capable defensive system and defenders and that helps their goalies look better, (their offense and team speed are pretty bad). Clifford and his size is a much bigger add, and the cost is pretty light. Campbell is better than Hutchinson, that's true, but I would've liked a Talbot, smith, Elliot as emergency starter/above average backup.

Two mid-late 3rds for UFA Clifford is a fair price, but if Toronto doesn't make playoffs, those 3rds look a lot better. Especially if Matthews is going to score 2 goals a game and still finish a -3....

Size, team defense, and solid defenders are what the team needs. They just added some nice size, hopefully Keefe can teach them team defense, and that just leaves addressing the D.

I didn't see much of the Leaf game. Actually the Ranger shot total wasn't particularlly high, but the Leafs sure made some bone head players resulting in three goals.

The rangers had 35 shots, thats what he was referring to before. not the average shots against per game

And they were good chance shots as well...Yes the 4th goal was bad but goalies make mistakes like that(falling down-TML also had the puck, had the chance to ice it if they wanted to but gave it up)
