Would rather go after hammer in the offseason than give up Niku... because they would be perfect partners lol. It would allow Niku to play more freely

I am pretty sure Calgary could easily get a better offer than that for Hamonic at the deadline if that is the route they go.

Get Hamonic for the post season...plus we get an early chance on re-signing him

Gusev has 30+ points on a crappy NJD team...He will get way more playing with Wheels and Ehlers

That's not true, it took him 20 games to adjust, which is understandable considering he's playing on the larger sheet of ice his entire career. In his last 30 games he has 23 points and his 5v5 Corsi is 50%. He's not great defensively by any means but to say hes not having a good season is completely off base.

Some Jets fans fascination with trading for Hamonic is just weird.

Its because he is good and he is what we need...being from WPG helps

He's good but not that good, he's also 30 and headed for a decline.

I like Hamonic but no thanks to trading for him, if he can be signed reasonably in the summer it's worth looking at but he's not worth trading for.
