Description
This is a hypothetical look IF the Wild were to move both Dumba and Brodin prior to next season. Credit to trade ideas goes to @Jaytea and @TanSor
All prospects put on the roster to be viewed/imagined easily. With these prospects and draft picks, I have to believe the Wild’s prospect pool ranking would skyrocket towards the top as well as their future‘s prognostications.

Much like Zucker to PIT, I think one of Brodin or Dunba are destined to go to CAR. I'm hoping for Necas but I'd settle for Suzuki and a 1st. Prospect pool is looking really good after these trades and especially when you add in the players we'd take in the draft. I do think only one of them is moved, though.

I agree that only 1 gets moved and that probably helps Guerin drive the price up a bit by making a team looking to get Brodin bid against a team looking to get Dumba. The top 4 is still in good shape with Soucy being able to play the minutes lost if either of them get traded. I think overall Dumba is the guy who makes the most sense to trade if they can get Brodin signed as a UFA after the expansion draft.

Unless of course Guerin decides to go full rebuild, then Brodin, Dumba, Staal, and Foligno all need to go.

Here’s a question to chew on: if these two offers were on the table, which one would you take? @JayTea @TanSor

Highly doubt Necas would be moved but you never know if Dumba is going the other way...

Exactly this, see a lot of people on here say Necas is untouchable but they aren't in the actual GM's office. Saw some Pens fans say the same about Addison and he moved.

Carolina deal. I like Heponiemi a lot but I'm a tad higher on Suzuki

That's true, but it would likely be a 1 for 1 if that happens. Long term, I think I'd prefer Suzuki and a 1st. That probably answers @MNBassman.

I’d go for the Carolina deal to...but it’s close. As great as Brodin is, I believe Dumba’s trade value is higher which is why you get Suzuki. The 1sts should end up pretty close to the same spot.

Getting Ryan Suzuki is like getting the wrong Nylander or Granlund brother. No interest in him and a mid-1st for Dumba/Brodin.

Heponiemi is just another LHS wing to add to the collection.

Scott Wheeler of the Athletic ranks Suzuki as the Canes #1 prospect and ranks Carolina as the 3rd best prospect pool in the NHL.
Here is his assessment, “ Suzuki is a dynamic, line-driving centre who is at his best with the puck on his stick as the primary carrier on the ice. While he’s not a natural scorer, Suzuki can break down defenders and goalies with his hands (though he can try to do too much and is prone to turning it over here or there). He’s also an exceptional passer who creates through seams, can run a power play, and makes a lot of small area plays in crowds. Add in NHL top speed and acceleration, an improved understanding of the role he has to play defensively as a back checker and support valve (he has the spatial awareness and instincts needed to do both well), and improved strength on the puck and you’ve got a player who has the tools needed to be a second-line centre. I fully expect Suzuki will be one of the best players in junior hockey next year and an important piece of Team Canada’s 2021 world junior team.”

Cory Pronman, also from the Athletic ranks him as the 29th overall prospect and has this to say about him,
“ Skating: 55
Puck Skills: 60
Physical Game: 45
Hockey Sense: 65

Suzuki’s season has been a bit underwhelming so far. He’s been a top player for Barrie, but for an 18-year-old junior he hasn’t been dominant. We’ll see if a midseason trade to Saginaw changes things for him. He also had a scary midseason eye injury but has since returned from it. I still have him highly rated because of how much good I’ve seen from him in the past three years. I think his potential is high-end. He’s a tremendous passer with a high level of skill and can make plays at a quick pace. His game rubs some scouts the wrong way, some think he’s too soft, but I’ve never personally felt that way. He does need to eventually be a top player at the junior level, though, to continue to find himself in the top prospect conversation.”

He sounds like a better skating Granny. If I'm giving up either of Brodin/Dumba it's not for this Sazuki brother. Maybe he turns into something, but it's not a chance I'd take.

Not a natural goal scorer is a big red flag. Breaking down d-men/goalies is a lot different in the CHL than it is at even the AHL let alone the NHL level. All the tools to be a 2C isn't a ringing endorsement. Questions about his physical game. This reads like a guy you want as a playmaker wing, not center.

What’s a player/package you would target for their services?

I wouldn't trade Dumba/Brodin for a crapshoot maybe potential 2C that isn't having a good year, injury or not. Same as I wouldn't trade them for the LW Heponiemi.

There is no need to trade either of Dumba/Brodin right now. These 2 trades are all risk from MN's side. I'd rather have the junk trades Tor fans have been tossing around than either of these.

If I was to target one prospect it would be Krebs (he could be the steal of that draft class). If I was trading with Car it would be Necas + 1st (later of Tor/Car) or no deal.

Krebs is tops on my realistic target list too.

I don’t think there’s is any chance the Wild would get Necas AND a 1st...Necas alone is a long shot.

Necas is having a good season, but he still hasn't really broken out, or played center at the NHL level. MN would also have to take back some back cap. Taking Gardnier off their hands might work.

Gardiner would be a non-starter for me. IMO the only thing he’s good at is skating, and skating alone is not enough. If he had one year left on his deal, fine...but 3 more years of him...no way.

Gardiner would be gone in a year. Seattle would take him in the expansion draft. Let Brodin/Soucy be his babysitter and his stats will improve to a level where he should be an easy choice for Seattle.

On the current roster Rask, Soucy (use Dumba's spot on him, Brodin traded/walks/re-signs after the expansion draft), Mennel and Belpedio are the best options for Seattle. The FWDs worth anything are all safe, I used the 7th spot on Donato FFS.
