Johnsson is 3rd liner who can do very well (and has done very well) with matthews and nylander. Doing well with those two isnt a very hard thing to do but with his skill set I believe he could put up 50 points in the top 6 with either AM or JT.

I dont like montour at all. Hes good at moving the puck up the ice in transition but hes quite bad offensively and bad defensively. Throughout his career hes been horrible on special teams, hes not a good pp player in any way and hes a horrid PK'er. I dont see any area that hes good in besides moving the puck up the ice with control, hes not very good at retrieving the puck in his own end so hes pretty much a 1 trick pony. He doesnt even have good penalty differentials like someone with his skating talent should have.

I'm not even trolling, sabers fans on here think I am but he isnt good at 5v5 or on special teams. I dont see anything in his game besides hes transition play (the only thing he seems to have) tham makes him so valuable. Especially since the leafs have so many guys who can do that same thing

Think you are correct that Leafs are kicking tires on all of these players.

Watch him play more than 4 games a year. He is a very good dman in transition, which if you haven't noticed, is really good in the current NHL. He also just had 3 5v5 points against Ottawa.

I said he was very good transitionaly. Imo it is one of the most important tools that a player can have. Besides his play pushing he cant do anything else. You literally just said to watch more then 4 games but used 1 game as a sample. I have watched quite a few buffalo games. Watching the games doesnt really have anything to do with it though.

Points dont really matter for defenseman, or in general but that's off topic. If he was good in other areas then he would be valuable but he really isnt.

Points were the main reason leafs fans were calling for Rielly to win the Norris...

I never said rielly should win the norris. The norris is supposed to be for the best defenseman but its almost always given to the defenseman with the most points. Rielly isnt very good defensively. He is good at moving the puck up the ice and good offensively though
