Rangers pass. Pretty instantly. Getting out of Hank's cap hit could be helpful, but Burns' contract is massive, and they already have 3 good-to-great Dmen on the right side in Fox, Trouba, and DeAngelo

not to mention you are not getting one of the best prospects in the nhl if rangers will be taking on burns contract which is going to be bad in a few years.

Well one main general logic behind trades is that sometimes if you want to win now, you get a player like Burns who can instantly help with that but will be a negative asset in a few years in exchange for a player who can't help you win now but will be good in a few years, along with a major 8.5mil cap dump in Hank who's caught in an awkward situation in NYR where there's 2 young goalies who took the job from him leaving him to be a healthy 8.5mil scratch for a yr.

Though your logic's off, I respect and actually agree with your point and opinion on the prospect going back in Lundkvist simply being too valuable in this case though. NYR honestly have the best prospect pool in the league IMO and with Fox's emergence this year maybe Lund's one guy they're willing to give up since they play on the same side. But then again, the return in Burns isn't worth it since there's already 3 on the right side in the lineup.

My logic isnt off. Burns will be a cap dump soon and i would rather that not hinter nyr as it is going to SJ and lindvist is one of the best defensive prospects in the league and nyr can simply bench king for the rest of the season if he doesnt choose to take the trade. Your logic is correct but a wasteful version of it wasting a top prospect that could be used to aquire a piece that fits their age range so they have multiple chances to win the cup.
