So I get the islander trade and boychuck when he's healthy can still play. Colorado trade though I'd pass on considering where Colorado is going to be picking it's giving up a 2nd and 3rd to move up like 8 spots , yeah it's into the first round but depending on the guys they want it might not be worth it.

I like the general ideas here. I'd much rather not move Cholowski though - even for a first. Taking back Boychuk is a decent idea though. I'd rather send Bowey back, even if it meant getting a 2nd and not a first.

Also Gallant probably is signed by a contender. Unfortunately not even an elite coach will be able to make this a winning team - at least not yet.

Yeah I get it but I have them taking Wallinder with that pick. He’s a big lefty Swedish defenseman that I don’t think is getting out of the first round. Yzerman loves those types of players.

I also think its to soon to deal Cholowski offensively he is good and he was really good at the the point on the pp last season. He was sent down last to work on his game defensively and he has improved that part of his game. During the Wings last game Fox Sports Detroit aired Trevor Thompson asking him about the progress of his game and he said they want him to be more aggressive at both ends of the ice.

That pick could be as close 2 picks in front of Detroit's 2nd. I say that because I do think the team coming out of the East wins the cup this season.

I'm not sure Gallant is the right choice even if he is available. Gallant and Yzerman have been friends for a long time and played together for almost 10 years. Gallant is the only NHL player I've seen pull up and take a slap-shot from the top of the circle while on a 3 on 1 and it wasn't like he only did it once. My Dad used to call free skate Gerard Gallant skate: No skating fast and No skating backwards.

I should reiterate that it would be a draft day trade to anybody in the 23-26 range. I wouldn’t make that trade for a 4 spot difference.

Ok I didn't know it was a draft day trade now that makes sense. Or any time after the draft order in final.

Wallinder at 23-26 don't you think that's a bit early?
