New GM goes crazy at the draft

Created by: wojme

Description
Please don't roast me. I'm aware there needs to be additions done to the trades. Though I'm not sure what this would be.

Drysdale falls to wherever the sabres draft after losing the lottery again.

Might've gone overboard.

The chicago trade is intriguing for both sides. Montreal trade for sure needs more, wouldnt be a 1 for 1. And if this ever did happen, i think strome is center and domi goes wing

I offered Samuelsson, Mittelstadt and a 2nd in one of my AGMs for Strome and Chicago fans said no

Can't see Drysdale getting past all of ANA, OTT (twice), LA and New Jersey to get to BUF, Now standings can change but I would think Drysdale doesnt fall past 6

That's quite possible, but dmen have fallen in past drafts. If not sabres could always trade up.

I believe thats chicago fans not knowing who samuelsson is. I think mitts, samuelsson and a 2nd is more than fair

Do you think the Sabres go RD over a forward if Drysdale did reach them?

The trade is part me lowballing I guess and part me being very unsure of value.

Believe it could happen that they draft best available player which let's them trade Montour.

Maybe add a condition on the 2nd where if BUF reaches the playoffs next year or Strome hits 20G it turns into a 1st. Something along those lines

I think Buffalo should overpay for Cirelli. Even if it costs Montour + Mittelstadt, the 2 way play and speed is exactly what they need.

Seems like a pipe dream in that I doubt Tampa trades him.

Idk who said no (could've been me I dont remember LOL) but a 2nd in a deep draft plus a solid D prospect and a guy who still has plenty of NHL upside (similar to Nylander and ironically strome when Bowman picked him up) seems like a pretty fair deal for a guy who was falling out of favor to Dach at 2c. Last game he had a very solid game, so if he keeps it up they might be more reluctant to trade him but I still think his greatest value to us is as a trade chip

In case you Sabres fans were wondering about Domi because I've seen the Domi-to-Buffalo trade suggested a lot recently;

The reason MTL could possibly trade Domi is that he might not have a spot at centre next season. He's a very strange player, he's not been as effective or productive on the wing in Montreal. He's got tremendous speed and plays a north-south game. But, for some unexplainable reason, he's way better when in the middle of the ice (probably because of the open ice it allows him to deke, manoeuvre, and use his speed) . He's also a tricky player to match lines with. He needs speed to match him. He's had on and off success with Drouin, but when playing together both seem to overpass or seem to try too many skilled plays leading to turnovers. He's mostly had success with Lehkonen and Byron - two defensively responsible players, who play a simple crash to the net kind of game. Domi's recent surge in production coincides with Byron's return from injury (he's MTL's fastest skater). I think Byron's absence this season was a large factor in Domi's diminished production.
