If I'm Florida, and I'm serious about flipping it around, I'd find it hard not to accept that deal.

That being said, I just can't imagine them going on some sort of large scale sell-off, especially with the money owed to Bob. I could see some smaller moves (ie. Matheson or Stralman?), but I can't imagine them moving Huberdeau, Ekblad or Barkov.

this trade is stupid because the avs are not giving up two A+ prospects and ether a bust or A prospects for a center that would be a 2nd line center kadri would be a third liner so he wouldnt help this trade is strait up terrible Florida fans take it and run

That is probably about right for the price on Barkov. Though as an Avs fan, I would have trouble paying it...visions of the defense with Byram, Makar, Girard and Timmins for a decade...must clean up now. But for those thinking it is too much...how much do you think it would have been worth to trade for Patrice Bergeron 10 years ago? That is the player we are talking about, and he is on a cheaper contract than even MacKinnon.

I am not a bug Nurse fan, but I could see that one working.

The Lehner signing is fine...no clue if he would take it, but he will be worth close to that as an UFA.

Price for Lebanc might be a bit steep. A starting G and a middle/bottom 6 F, plus a pick swap, for a middle/top 6 F. Jost is not that far behind where Lebanc was at the same point in development, and adding that much to him is an overpay.

Biggest problem I have is the liquidation of the forward depth. Losing Jost, JTC, Nuke, Calvert and PEB, plus Newhook and a couple 1sts from the pool, would hurt. Even here, we have Greer and Kamenev in the top 12. Greer has never shown anything in his NHL games, and Kamenev as been shaky this year. I no longer have confidence in either becoming quality full time NHL players. Keeping Calvert and PEB would help with that. But as they are older, then the pool depth comes into play, and while I like the potential of prospects like Ranta, etc, banking on non-top 10 picks by the Avs is risky.

Overall, decent ideas, but I would not like it.

Why do you have Nurse on the 3rd pairing?

I think the best way to build a dynasty in to NOT trade away all the young talent that will play for under $1M for up to 3 more years. Barkov will command a HUGE raise in 2 years, Makar gets another $8M or so in one year - how are you going to keep the band together without talented players on cheap ELC deals? This would be a very good team for two years, then you'll have to gut it.

That Barkov deal is basically 4 1st rounders. Why not sign a RFA - sure the salary is more but giving up futures vs planned assets seems like a better move.
