I was playing around with the maximum cap hit they announced at around 88 million. This allows really good teams to add more pieces or stay intact. Tighter cap forces teams to make moves and increases parity.

I agree I would guess $84.5M but you never know NHLPA and the league still have to negotiate.

There is so much wrong with this. Let’s start with the easy one the cap isn’t going to $88M because the players won’t vote for the full 5% increase because they won’t want to pay into the escrow. Regardless for the sake it is you put the Avs into cap hell. How do they re-sign Makar and Landeskog? With all the trades you made you completely depleted the prospect pool. Trades, AZ says no, MASSIVE over pay for Palmieri, MTL says no, and WPG asks for more because Beaucage doesn’t have much value. Contracts under pay on Burakovsky, over pay on AAV and term with Nichushkin, MASSIVE overpay on AAV and term on Graves, under pay on Domi, and over pay on term on Zadorov. But hey other than that it is good.

The trades with MTL and NJD are nowhere near close.

what the hell are you thinking, avs dont do any of these maybe the MTL but all this is stupid we lose so much to have 3 good player when we trade 4 future amazing players, this is stupid you not even an avs fan, are you trying to have people decline this.

I find it amusing (entirely as an outsider) that with their marvelous defense, which is set for at least the next 5 years and probably successfully sailing through expansion essentially untouched, you think that Colorado would trade away Bowen Byram (not to mention Ryan Graves and Nikita Zadorov) and acquire short-timer Jeff Petry and Jakob Chychrun.
