I hope this happens. But only thing I don’t think borgstrom is ready for 2nd line duties yet. Haula could sign a 2-3 year to help bridge that gap

Florida has been told to cut $10 000 000 in salary for next season. They will not be keeping one of Hoffman or Dadonov (probably lose Hoffman) or spending to the cap.

Sabres have no reason to make that trade

That’s a rumor. And if only they miss the playoffs. The leafs keep letting the panthers back into keeping their hopes alive.

That is a rumour being said by multiple insiders (I trust CJ a lot).
Even then the Cats are highly unlikely to make it as a gap like that at his point of the season (even if it looks small) is difficult to make up. Hell the Leafs just lost 3 straight and the Cats made up 2 points. While possible, they are most likely out.

Cats have done themselves no favors running streaks like they have win 1 lose 3 etc, Leafs pretty much handed them opportunity to take third in the Atlantic and hold it and the Cats went on lost 4 straight to mediocre teams, Leafs seem to lose to bad teams but win against good teams, there's still time and by the end of the week it could flipped around but it's seeming unlikely Cats make the April season unless Bob finally does what he was paid to do and stand on his head the last 15 games

I mean the leafs just scored 4 goals against the cali teams. So they’re pretty much in the same spot. Panthers some bow win tonight. They’ll be tied on games and 1 point back. I’m not saying they’ll make the playoffs but the leafs aren’t doing themselves justice either.

Never said they were, Leafs have been hot and cold all season it's just there hot streaks out last their cold streaks, I'm not overly concerned with the Cali trip they also only let in 1 goal.

Uhh 5 to sj and 2 to Anaheim is 7 but the 3/23 game against fla is what will 95% likely determine who will make the playoffs over those two. But Florida is riding a hot goalie. In drieger so maybe they’ll figure it out. But doubt it.

If you're thinking about bolstering the defense, what do you think about Jacob Larsson? He's younger and would be cheaper than Dillon, although Dillon could be signed for free and Larsson would have to be acquired, of course. Larsson and Antoine Morand (a center prospect on a par with Eetu Luostarinen) interest you?

Did the Djoos trade really lower Larsson's value that much?

Not so much lower it as make Larsson expendable (as Marcus Pettersson was). Djoos gives Anaheim additional depth at LhD -- IF he re-signs here. I wouldn't trade Larsson (or Guhle or Mahura) without having Djoos in the fold for the coming seasons. I would offer Djoos a four- or five-year deal. But then again, I was a big fan of offering Nick Jensen exactly the deal he got with Washington, and most of the Caps guys tell me Jensen was a mistake.

Hoffman has more points than Hall. Why would he sign for that little?
