The Eichel trade is fair value. Eichel is clearly discontent in Buffalo. He just deleted all his social media. Botterill is getting fired after this season and Eichel is probably going to request out of Buffalo. Horrible city and horrible team. Why would he give his all there for another year?

Massive overpay for Eichel . Also you have not addressed the defence this team still will not be able to defend a lead has no defensive depth whatsoever . Romanov might turn into a great dman but is a total unknown on nhl size ice surface .

Idk...I believe that Eichel will play for Buffalo another year, remember the whole trade McDavid thing this year also🤔
+ This is Eichels first really good year, he will know that the team can win next year. Also....deleting social media is something people do when they have realized that they don't need people angry at them all the time for not scoring in 3 games

Well, that's an offer. Leave it on the table and we'll see if it's the best one we get. He hasn't asked for a trade, and there's no reason to trade him. Plus he has that contract, so his leverage is kinda limited to holding out or playing in the khl. But I suppose that if he did ask for a trade and our owner decided it was ok to move him, this would be an offer from an nhl team.

Just trade Domi to Colorado for Zadorov + Kaut/Jost, depending on if you prefer a C or a C/Winger.
Helps your middle LHD issues and gives you a young prospect.
Avs get a top 6 C/Winger
Win-Win

Every time I see an Eichel trade I always want to say “this is so unrealistic” then I remember buffalo trade ROR for spare parts and took on a CAp dump. So you could probably get him for less and dump Byron or Alzner

Honestly I’m not a fan of these trades, sure you get one great player but you give up 4 or more valuable pieces, so are you really improving the team???

But ultimately for an elite C fair value doesn’t get deals done, over payment does especially an elite c that a team owns his hockey playing rights for the next 6 years. One that has them saying we want 2 first, Suzuki, Caufield, and what else are you willing to give?
