Is Jenik some top prospect? Cause if not I don't see what's in this for Ottawa.

Yes he was the best player in the Q not named Lafreniere this year, this is just a brutal trade for ARZ, considering that Raanta>>>>Nilsson, 2nd>3rd, Stepan>Tierney (I mean neither are that good and Stepan makes too much, I can see where Tierney has more value for sure, but not at all justifiable to be giving up Jenik) and Demers isn't a bad player either, he makes what he should make lol

Ottawa would do this if you didn't give all those players. Remove some and they answer

Janik wasn’t playing in Qjmhl. And in fact there some players that have put some real good season a undrafted 19 year old Sokolov with the screaming eagles who is a monster at 6’4’’, khovanov who is drafted by Minnesota have had a really solid season, samuel poulin in Sherbrooke along with is teammates Felix robert who have produced 92 point in 46 games. Those are the Qjmhl best players.

Sherbrooke was literally loaded this year. I lived in sherbrooke and i saw them played a lot this year and boy this team would beat the **** out of any team in canada this year. They are loaded up front with three well balanced line. They have a real solid defensive squat and they got samuel bolduc in Christmas tradeperiod, who have been outstanding. Samuel Hlajav is among the top goalie in the entired Chl this year. There not a lot of superstar in that team but there no hole.

why is everyone so insistent of moving raanta lul he and kuemper have been an amazing duo. Why break that up. Sure adin hill is good but still needs some work. Once a team has good goaltending they should not be risking it by splitting them up

Oh ik, there's a reason they were number 1 for the majority of the year it seemed in the CHL power rankings (either them or OTT who was also stacked)

Too bad most of those kids in those teams likely won't get to compete for the mem cup

Raanta, Demers and Stepan are all 30 and have one more year on their contracts, really aren't guys that are of much use to Ottawa, Tierney being a good 3C, RFA and 25 fits with where the Sens are now and will hopefully be in a few years.

If Arizona really felt like they were a 3C away maybe some kind of trade built around Jenik for Tierney might make sense but this trade here doesn't make sense for them imo, though I guess they could move those guys for picks/prospects at the TDL, idk, this trade doesn't make sense for either team imo.

Yeah trading Jenik is just an immediate no, especially not for a 3C...
