Hischier trade

Created by: OutCold13
Team: 2020-21 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 28, 2020
Published: Mar. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So i doubt the Devils would be interested in this deal but, if Devils get 2nd pick in lottery and the obvious choice is Byfield, I would assume Hischier becomes available. I'm guessing this trade would be more complicated than what I have, but please tell me what you think should be added.
This assumes a cap decrease, 1 compliance buyout, and that Dubnyk is sent to AHL but does not report.

If the devils draft one of byfield/Rossi , they should consider this trade.

it's amazing how a guy who cant play defence not being worth Hischier + is hate. If Dumba other fans would be telling us that they'd need to retain salary and add a 1st to get a 2nd for him

Would the Devils be better off to trade Hughes rather then Hischier?

It's part of a system they have in place where they overrate their players and trash other players in the hopes of acquiring that player, it's cute actually.

I've heard Hughes called a generational type talent so I assume they keep him.

Dumba's having an off year.. can see 50+ points otherwise and Kaprizov is included as well who has bout the same if not more value than Dumba, if new jersey drafts a center cant see them not doing it

oh yes, this is totally strictly a Toronto fan thing. No other fan base ever does it ever. Every single other fan base here is totally square about the value of their own players and prospects

Matt Dumba has hit 50 points once in his career. other than that he's had one season over 30 points. He also is not good defensively and he has a big ol contract. Karpitzov is more valuable than him in a trade like this, but like i said, the add would need to be something better than Dumba to make him worth Hischier. Like Brodin

That's fair, but Leafs fans, maybe because there are so many of you on here, seem to be the worst about it.
Don't know how many time I've seen Jeremy Bracco overrated on here.

yes, did you see the Georgiev trade proposals? how about the recent Marner ones? Hell, there was a Hawks fan telling me how Murray is a number 3 defender just yesterday. Other fans are just as bad, just not as plentiful

Dumba is a loooong ways from being a defensive liability. He’s not great, but at least 10x the defender Barrie is.

I would need to know more about Hischier’s and Boqvist’s floors and ceilings to analyze this trade sufficiently. As I’ve stated many times, I’m a very big believer in Dumba and think this season will prove to be an outlier, not his new normal. Kaprizov, i see as having an instant impact and i expect him yo be a 40-70 point/year guy for the next decade. Hischier, i see as a #2 center, and I know very little about Boqvist.
My best guess would be that Boqvist should be replaced by Ty Smith and then wrap this trade up with a bow and call it good for both teams. The Wild could then trade Brodin for another center or center prospect and with Hischier, Ek, and the Brodin return, they would be in great shape at center for the foreseeable future.

Side note: I think you are paying Soucy way too much here. He’s like a 2.5 pairing defenseman - not quite a 2nd pairing, but a great 3rd pairing d-man. I wouldn’t pay him over $3million per and I wouldn't sign him until after i traded Brodin...

I'm horse sh...it at contracts so when it comes to signing players of consequence I try to be high.
I'm a big fan of Brodin, but since it's hard to rate him based on regular statistics he gets seriously underrated, I don't see Wild getting a fair trade for him. So I would rather hold on to him. Dumba I would rather hold onto atleast until he returns to form, but when a viable center option presents itself I think Wild have to be ready to jump.
