Description

Canes create openings to promote Morgan Geekie and Alex Nedeljkovic from Charlotte, and adds depth players for depleted Charlotte Checkers team, plus get a 2nd round draft pick. Ottawa gets Reimer to replace Anderson, Martinook to replace Nick Paul and Dzingel to replace Boedker.

Mrzek returns to DET to replace Howard; Gardiner provides power play support and helps fill the void of Mike Green/Trevor Daley loss. DET trades aging and overpaid Darren Helm to gain cap space and CAR obtains a versatile veteran forward.

Wouldn’t it make sense to keep Reimer or Mrazek tho? Both have been good, and sure Nedeljkovic needs to jump up but he wasn’t good at all when he had to come up already.

OTT declines very fast.

Hog > Reimer

Paul > Martinook

We like Dzingle, but not enough to give you picks.

OTT has no reason to make this trade. It doesnt help our long term goals.
