(Edit: Coming from a Leafs fan, he could be your 2nd best D defensively and 3rd all-around. Also, Grzelcyk has been playing for three years now, haven't you watched him play when Bruins play vs Leafs like 12 times a year??)

Grzelcyk only plays on the 3rd pair because there's Chara and Krug in front of him (LD). If Krug/Chara is injured, he can replace anyone. Whatever it is top pair or second. He could play in the top4 of (at least) half league's teams. Doesn't produce that much offensively but really good defensively, one of the best puck-moving D and at exiting his own zone.

I'm not saying the Bruins will definitely get a late 1st but they can. A second round pick would work.

Watch a player play before talking about him

He would be the second best d man at 5 on 5 on your team. The bruins wouldn’t trade him for a 2nd, but probably couldn’t get a first.

Top pairing on your Leafs.

Grzelcyk is a solid dman who is underrated, however, in such a deep draft, I doubt that at the current stage, he will get you a first. Maybe you can get a 2nd for him, or a pair or 3rds, but I cannot see a team moving a 1st this year for his services.

Leaf fans don't watch any out of market games. They are so consumed in their bubble it is crazy. They think Holl is good. Holl on the Bruins would be the 7-8 d option. This guy saying Grzelcyk is a bottom pairing guy is just plain dumb.

He is currently worth a 2nd, and if he develops and gets locked up long term, he is absolutely worth a late first to a competing team.
Again, you guys clearly arent bruins fans, so I get that you dont understand the situation fully, but do the FULL research first before commenting.

Late 1st might be a bit of a reach, but the kid can play top 4 on most teams. Maybe something like a 2nd + mid prospect is closer.

I do laugh at the comments that he's a 3rd pairing guy....yet those people have never watched him play. He stuck (like our LHD prospects) behind Chara and Krug. Grz is the reason the Krug may not get the money he wants from Boston. Grz isn't the offensive dynamo that Krug is, but is a much better defender. He was on pace for 25pts this year while playing 3rd pairing minutes and getting little PP time as Krug runs PP1 and that group eats up most of the time. This year Grz ranks 87th in P/GP (again w/ 3rd pairing minutes), so he has some more offensive potential with more TOI.

Like both of the other guys explained to you, just because he plays 3rd line minutes doesnt make him a "3rd liner". Put it like this, by saying Griz is a decent player and doesnt get us a first because he isnt a solid second line guy is like saying stamkos isnt worth a first because he was playing second line minutes. Or Backstrom or Kuznetsov (whichever one isnt playing on the first line with Ovi).

It was the other guy I was responding too, but the fact that you called me biased is the problem at hand. Me and the other rational fans presented the facts saying that griz is a 2nd pair guy stuck between Krug and Chara and sharing time with Lauzon and Moore, and you say im biased. Its wrong and weird.
