clutterbucks salary is not an issue, not moving a promising young defenseman to trade him.

One of Clutterbuck, Ladd or Komarov would likely to be move for Barzal, Toews and Pulock extension. With pulock and Toews on the right side Bolduc become expendable. And they got a early third round pick of that a a decent return for a 3,5 millions guy who isn’t what he use to be

I leave in Sherbrooke and he was traded this Christmas to the Pheonix. He have potential but he isn’t near Nhl for the moment. He must improved is skating, is decision making and clearly the pace he play. I would say from what i have seen of him so far he would be a top 4 defenseman in best case scenario but more likely to be a bottom pairing guy’s if he improved is skating abilities enough.

I agree with your projection, but his skating is the best part of his game. His decision making needs work. He skates really well for a 6’4 Dman

A recent 2nd round pick who looks like a legit top 4 physical RHD. I am high enough on him not to include him in a trade to move Clutterbuck.

If you are talking about moving Ladd or Boychuck then fine, but to include him in a trade to move Clutterbuck is an overpay.

Yeah but not enough to be efficient in a top role yet. That was more the concern about is skating. He have a good average speed but to many often he stop moving is feet and at Nhl level you need to maximize every stride.
Overall he have potential but he need time in ahl.

What about Ladd and Bellows to Montreal for a fourth round pick ?

Fair enough, I’d still do it. He’s a LHD and apparently robin salo is coming this summer. He’s solid defensively and his skating has gotten much better.

There will likely be a compliance buyout so we won’t have to worry about that - I honestly don’t know if i would make that trade. Ladd is one injury away from LTIR and the isles save 1.25 mill by burying him in Bridgeport anyways.

I would count on a CBO. Owner and players have lost to many money that won’t pass the votes. And you are probably right for Ladd he is one away from Ltir but if he is not that contract completely suck.

Teams were planning for a cap between 84-88 mill. Now the cap is likely to remain the same and the league is going to lose up to 1 billion in revenue. It makes the most sense to do 1 or 2 CBO.

Also what about teams like Vancouver and Vegas who gave up significant assets for rentals - compliance buyouts would help a lot of teams

Projection where made in late February so in no case that have a affect on next season since the season was interrupted only a few week later. And CBO cost big Money to owners and players lose their job so i don’t think that they will go in that way. Most of the insider are saying that the cap is likely to remain a 81,5 so if this is the case team would have to work thing out by themselves.

Plenty of insiders say they are discussing compliance buyouts. If there isn’t one , it f*cks a bunch of teams

Only if the cap goes down, if the cap stay put that isn’t supposed to have any affect on any team since tean aren’t supposed to have more then 81,5 millions commited in salary. Salary cap increase isn’t a sur thing year after year the fact that the league have grown well and permitted increases annually is fine but team are supposed to managed their roster for the current cap. The fact that they have projected a increase have absolutely no affect on the contract they gave back then. Team will have to figure out by themselves. This won’t happen.

Brian Burke is a clown! No offense but Burke have no clue about what is goiing on and have probably just made that story up. Is comment where made without any source or true fondement. Burke is a old spunk who always create rumors who are based on is opinion.

Lmao look at you, you really think a team will take a capdump for a player who’s not promising ? We got Armia for 1 year of Mason at 4.1M. Armia is a solid 3rd liner and this year was a middle six forward
