Based off feedback from my last post.
2.
MIN
  1. Gusev, Nikita
Additional Details:
I would really like to acquire Guesev since he's a right shot top 6 wing and he had great chemistry with Kaprizov on the Russian Olympic gold-medal winning team.
NJD

Additional Details:
Donato would give a goal scoring winger for Hughes or Hischier and is an RFA.

How on earth is Mittelstadt half that valuable?

He is. Just because he hasn't broken into the league yet doesn't mean he has no value. His potential still exists, this is just a guy desperate for a new home. This trade is valued properly.

My question is more about why BUF would use him to trade for defense. They have a pretty set D core. They are desperate for middle six scoring depth.

Gusev is better than Danato. His goal scoring is the same as Danatos. New Jerseys easily rejects
Also that is so little Brodin

Never said he didnt have value, he just isnt near enough valuable to get Brodin because Brodin is very good. I know why Buffalo does it, they get a better and more valuable player, even if its not for a need. I have zero clue as to why Minny would entertain it. Unless Fenton is back

Value seems fair to me as long as Brodin has an extension agreed on. The only thing is it seems like most Sabres fans say they need the same thing the Wild do, a top 6 center, so not sure they make this deal unless they're already willing to give up on Mittelstadt and their need for a solid LHD is big enough. I know they have Cozens, but then again we also hoped to have a franchise center in Granlund and that didn't exactly play out the way it was supposed to (not that I'm complaining about the end result)!

Gusev has one goal less than Donato and averaged over 4 more minutes per game. I agree Gusev is better, but Donato is no slouch and has team control being an RFA. Gusev is a UFA and can sign anywhere after next year.

I want the Devils to resign Gusev....I think he can be a 25+ goal scorer for the next few years with us. Not opposed to Donato, but MIN would have to add.

IMO this is very close to fair, Brodin is a pending UFA and Mittelstadt still has tons of potential. He put up decent numbers in the AHL this year. He was just rushed last year into the 2C role and wasn't ready.

except that pending UFA's as good as Brodin bring in bigger price tags than Mittlestadt all the time, especially when they have good cap hits on their current deal.
