Philly in 2020-21 trade with MTL and DAL

Created by: Hammerwise
Team: 2020-21 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 16, 2020
Published: Apr. 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Patrick and Lindblom are easy cheap re-signs after injury, although Lindblom is at least one year away to build up strength, (if hes back at all). Hagg and Myers still not there, but Hagg is solid 3rd pairing and Myers is almost on par with Sanheim at this stage.
Ghost is just two years from a 60+ pt season, signed reasonably and good term. Coming off injuries, which affected play, and Tanner is solid mid level prospect. Ghost for Juulsen and a late 2nd, is pretty close, and tanner is worth a tad more than a late 3rd. Juulsen while a talented prospect is coming off a lost concussion season and his value like Ghosts is lessened.
Dallas Deal: JVR and 2nd = Radulov, dallas needs some change, and JVR is a more reliable commodity with almost exact stats. Stephen Johns WITHOUT concussion issues is worth more than two mid level prospects, (although wylie is at the top of that range), but hes a real injury concern and Dallas needs some youth, possibly PHI has to add just a bit, maybe a 4th or 5th rounder.
Johns and Juulsen are both RD, to go with Myers and Niskanen (RD), with Niskanen in last season. Hagg and Morin or a rookie from the minors fight for 3rd LD and 7th spot.
Derek Grant re-signed as a UFA as he plays gritty, solid two way, all three positions and had been on fire for the club. Reeves signed for toughness and physical play, but a UFA like Matt Martin or Wayne Simmonds probably come for similar monies or even a healthy Sam Morin would fill that role.
A 23 man team under the cap, with 8 defenseman, so Morin or Juulsen probably get a season in minors. Lineup is pretty deep, with Frost at RW, but Patrick could go to RW instead. Voracek is a good playmaker to go with Patrick/Frost and youngster Farabee. 4th line and 13th are solid two way guys with grit and tenacity. Extremely deep forward corps.
Valuable 2019-2020 callups Friedman, Rubotsov and NAK still in minors, average callups in Vorobyev, Andreoff and Bunnamon behind those three and developing talented youth in Ratcliffe, Zamula, Allison, Kalynuk, Ustimenko and Hogberg in minors.

Johns have thrived since he recovered from the injury. We shouldn't move him for two unnecessary, not that high level prospects.

As a playoff team, we'd only move Johns in order to
a) make the team itself better
b) save money for further acquisitions

Although I'd probably take JVR+Wylie+2nd for Radulov+something if possible.

I agree, but I happen to think JVR and a 2nd is worth just a tad more than Radulov, (JVR and Raduklov are similar age, almost exact stats, JVR had injuries/less playing time, with JVR the more reliable commodity) making a slight difference in the offer for Johns. Ideally PHI would like Johns more than Radulov, and as mentioned I do believe Johns is worth more than original offer, but you don't miss more than an entire season with concussions and carry your true trade value.
If Honka was signed or a prospect/draft day defenseman for Dallas works out, then I can see this.

Good thought process. Only have minor complaints about some of the depth signings.

Well to be fair JVR is 30, Radulov's 33, so there's a bit of a difference.

I don't see Honka playing a single game for the Stars anymore. They're pretty much done.

Fair trade for MTL
I don’t know, I don’t like trading Juulsen
At least you took the St-Louis 2nd rd pick and not an early one. Gost-Weby Chiarot-Petry Romanov-Mete is pretty decent so ... idk lol

Stephen Johns, be it a little rusty, played awesome in his short stint back. I don’t think anyone is ready to part ways yet. With him, Dallas’ defensive core is 20,27,25,27,27. Youth is not an issue there.
I’m not sure how true anyone’s assessment of this team is. Are they old? Maybe. Do they need a system better tailored to the roster? Absolutely.

What happened to Ghost?
Where did he get injured?
Seems like his play has been poor for a little while now...?
