Bruins say no.
To make it a conversation, you'd have to retain at least a MILLION on 27yr old Murphy (in BOS he'd be 3rd pair, or lower, behind McA and Carlo. Thus US$3.85M on the third pair is a MIL or MIL.5 too much).

You traded Murphy for a 23 year old winger who can't crack the NHL and is a .25 ppg player in the AHL....this right here tells you me you have no idea. Additionally where is Ian Mitchell? Instead you bring in Barrie for $4M? That's called bad cap management. Saad would retain a mid to late 1st rounder but not a top 6 pick. Cap won't come close to increasing that much and likely stays flat. NYI won't do that deal or even close to it. Maatta likely gets bought out or traded making room for Beaudin or Carlsson.

So much wrong here.

You do realize they have Varlamov for 4 more years at 5 million? Why would sorokin come back from the KHL when he can opt out and sign elsewhere for an offer sheet.

Barrie signing that low to become a top RH d man on the Hawks with a stacked team all around. A one year contract to prove he deserves 6mil+.

You sir are confused. To Sign Beaudin to an nhl contract. Did you see his numbers in the ahl? For the Murphy trade I meant to add a 3rd round pick with senshyn coming the Hawks way. Whoops! Who ever said saad was getting a 6th overall in return? Sorokin will accept an offer sheet to make him a starting goalie. The islanders won’t want to accept but they will have to when picks are involved in the offer sheet. That was just a draft trade to give the islanders good prospects for a goalie not wanting to be part of their organization. Carla mov is signed 4 years at 5 million. Sorokin is 24. He wants to be a starter. So please educate me on how your nonsensical response makes sense now.

Bruins say yes. He solidifies their rhd with 3 great players. Murphy provides a big body defensive d man which they are desiring. He has a cheap contract for the player he is. Look at the scandella contract compared to this with age as a factor. This is a great trade for the bruins to solidify their d corps at a low cost.

Because the islanders goal is to help the Blackhawks by trading a potential franchise goaltender for scraps?

No, I think you clearly are.

Beaudin is very close to being ready. Yes, I follow the Hawks and the prospects religiously and Beaudin's game does not translate well to the AHL physical game...much the same as Boqvist's game and he didn't look too hot in the AHL yet has looked good in the NHL. Also, where is mitchell? Do you know who he even is?

Regarding Sorokina and a OS, if that was what you were trying to demonstrate there is a way to do a OS on here...you should have at least put that in your description if that was your intent so you don't look like you're thinking the Islanders accept two B level prospects for him.

Who said sorokin doesn’t want to be a part of the islanders organization? His KHL agent said last week that he is signing with the islanders - he has a clear path to be the starter. The islanders literally signed varlamov so sorokin can have a Russian mentor and make the transition easier for him.

im not aware where the Avs once starting goaltender signed? Dear lord give your head ashake.
They worked hard to bring Sorokin over to North America, its not to trade him. Maybe understand what other teams processes are first before you try to act passive aggressive about who knows what

Barrie will have multiple options for long term deals, not go sign with a once division rival while on the Avs who who hated to give them a sweat heart deal

I mean you are living in a fantasy uptopia world with this roster

Look at the scandella contract compared to this with age as a factor. This is a great trade for the bruins to solidify their d corps at a low cost.

I'll start from the bottom:

1) I don't care what Scandella got. I'm not the GM of STL.
* Taylor Hall can get $9/10M from some poor sap but not me, so again I don't care.

2) As I said, US$3.85Mil is TOO much for the 3rd pair when Krug, Grzelcyk and Chara need re-signing (and so do DeBrusk/Bjork); in a Cap World that's likely flat or falling - we don't know yet.
* kudos to you tho for dumping salary and attempting to take back an entry level prospect with lightning speed to likely be Strome's wingman!

3) Not sure if you've seen Lauzon play? Small sample size so far for him yes - but he is no "shrinking violet" and as an entry-level guy he has basically hijacked the #6 slot.
B's D core currently:
Chara-McAvoy
Krug-Carlo
Grz-Lauzon
#7's (Clifton, Miller, Moore, Vaak, Zboril, Kampfer...).

4) Expansion coming so could lose him if he's on such a sweet deal - that makes this trade to short-sighted for Boston.

5) Team need is more akin to a RW 2nd liner (think Palmieri).

* Murph could be talked about but only if Krug and Chara leave...so call back in a couple of months!

and Varly really does work best in a 1A-1B tandem split. Its the perfect station for Sorokin who is all but confirmed to sign with the Islanders May 1st

Agreed. Trotz will rotate them at first but I think by December sorokin will be the starter

Shumi Babaev (his KHL agent) confirmed he is signing with the isles on his twitter and Instagram so it should be official on May 1st.

So sorokin takes over when varlamov contract is over and when he is 28 years old?

Sorokin is signing a 1 year ELC for 925 K on May 1st. He will be the starter mid season after he gets acclimated to North America. Varlamov was brought in to mentor sorokin. Next summer varlamov will be traded or taken by Seattle in the expansion draft.

Except sorokin is committed to playing for the islanders , puljujarvi and honka do not want to play for the teams that drafted them
