Is It Possible

Created by: STLEx32

Initial Creation Date: Apr. 18, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Only way Petro is signed is if Allen and Bozak are off the books. If Dunn wants longer term and with a higher ticket price this makes thing very difficult. I know people might be looking at Steen to move, but if you listen to how players talk about him I think moving him would have a negative effect on the team. Sharks need help in goal and center depth so the trade is possible. The Flames have a ton of D hitting the market so Gunnarson moving there isn’t out of the question. Just possibilities. You can all roast me in the comment...

Dumb idea, but what if Dunn takes a Labanc type deal?

The Blues need to sign Pietrangelo at all costs and just can not let him walk. Have no idea why they did not lock him up yet or why they traded for Faulk before locking up Pietrangelo.

I think that’s super rare. I think Dunn could be anywhere from 3.5-5. Most likely will be on the lower end because of how the team currently utilizes him. Might be a conspiracy theory, but they seem to limit his TOI which decreases production and keep the player he compares to at a lower price.

Kevin Labanc is the perfect example of why players should not take that kind of deal. Labanc took a cheap one year deal to help San Jose be competitive, only for San Jose to suck ass, and for Labanc to take a step back from where he was as an RFA last summer. Probably cost himself millions.

You would need to add a prospect to the sharks deal and a pretty decent one. Those players are both huge cap hits for what they provide, so the sharks wont be strictly paying for them, however we could deal with taking them to get something else of value back

I could see the Sharks wanting Allen, he's the solid goalie they need. Bozak on the other hand has negative value.

I think it's between what the poster and you have. The Sharks should get a small sweetener (3rd round pick) and shouldn't have to give up picks.

If it's Allen alone I think the Sharks pay a 3rd.

So two 3rd round picks to take Bozak.

No team is helping St Louis out of their cap troubles, Taking Bozak and Allen etc. Without Armstrong adding sweeteners to the deal. Picks/Prospects etc.

Idk that Labanc would recommend he does that, it didn't work out so great for him

Teams help good teams out of their cap troubles all the time. Backes, Lucic, Subban all make more money and all play worse and have more term (except Backes) than either Bozak or Allen and yet both were moved with very little being paid to move them, or nothing at all given what the return was. Tampa had no leverage yet still got a first for JT Miller. This is just in the last year.

because he is probably asking for way to much. He probably wants to test the free agency market. As for faulk they see potential in him and signed him long term as they are preparing for pitrangelo not to return. Why do u think they are signing everyone but him (scandella, blais, Macearthen) its because they probs are ready to move on without him. Their d-core will struggle for a bit but Parayko with time will easily become their #1RD. Sure pitrangelo brought a lot to this team but he already reportedly turned down an 8.25 for 8 year deal meaning he probably wants more money. If I were the blues I would lay down an offer for him and if he rejects I would trade the rights to sign him to another team and move on.
