Why would...
1-Hall sign that?
2-DET take a cap dump for a 6th rounder?
3-St-Louis trade a great young player for scraps?

Wings pass. The cost of taking two years of an AHL level defense man on 4+ million is a lot more than a sixth round pick. Be serious why would they accept such a bad contract for nothing? and please do not say well they suck, because that just does not cut it, bad teams do not want to be bad and this would just hamper the Wings.

Funny since when is 4 x 7.5 the same as 7 x 9 or 7 x 9.5 which is minimum of what i see Taylor Hall signing for. And Detroit isn't taking Alzners contract with only a 6th round pick attached to it. Need to offer by far better then a 6th for that contract.

I called it a wishlist but:

1- It will be interesting to see what Hall does sign for. I would see teams hard to sign him for $9M given the revenue losses.
2- I could see Yzerman using Alzner as a stop gap during the rebuild and has the cap room to absorb that kind of cap hit (Det is losing a ton of older LD to UFA)
3 - St Louis is in serious Cap Mgmt if they want to keep their Captain, they will have to make sacrafices

Not with all the cap space they could overpay slightly in the Free agent pool ad get a way better defenseman. You would have to add at least a 2nd and then some.

If a team like Detroit that has the cap space thought Alzner would be serviceable on the 3rd pair and a good veteran presence maybe it'd be worth it for them but they're gonna want more then a 6th, if I was Yzerman I'd want a pick for each remaining season of Alzner's contract so like two 2nds or a 2nd and 3rd.

the reason Avs could move Zadorov or Graves is bc they have too many Dmen, they arent moving him to take one back
