Description

This is the best I could do assuming the cap doesn't move at all.
Any suggestion please give them and I will fix it. Some of the contracts are probably overpays or underpayments so I would like some constructive advice. No insults.
And I mean this team is terrible, I know, but Leafs management was banking on a rising cap and that doesn't look like it's going to work out so...

Not a chance Pittsburgh does it. Aston-Reese is the best defensive Forward in the league. If Leafs wanted to acquire him, it would be for Kapanen/Marner + 1st Round pick.

I’m not a Pens fan, but ZAR is absolutely worth more than both players. He is the type of player that you win cups with & has the lowest cap hit as well. Marner is the most overpaid player in the game who only earns secondary assists, which is the most worthless stat of all time. Nylander is probably the most one dimensional & soft player I’ve ever seen. He never backchecks & is always out of positioning defensively. Sure he scores a lot of one timers, but so does Ovechkin, that doesn’t make him good.

JVR: 29g/62pts. High: came w Marner the next year but we'll get there
Sophomore:
JVR:36g/54 pts
Kadri: 32g (tied for career high), 55 pts (2nd highest. also missed 2 games)
Y3:
Hyman: 21g (tied with again Marner next year), 41 pts (career high)
Tavares: 47g (>prev. high by 10g), 88pts (career high)
Y4:
Hyman 21g (tied from last year w Marner, highest g/pg by a lot), 37pts (highest p/pg by a lot)
Matthews: 47g(career high and on pace for many more), 80pts (high and on pace for many more)

has played with some pretty good lines, and some pretty average lines, but clear that he drives play and makes his teammates much better.

Marner himself:
61 pts

94pts
67pts (on pace for 93 in an 82 game season)

Defensive game has also been improving. Now a valuable penalty killer.

Don’t ever compare Marner to Kane. Kane does so much more than earn secondary assists. He scores 30–40 goals a year & most of them are highlight reel. He elevates the play of his linemates, Toews & Panarin are not very good without him. JVR is a better player than Marner, he scores more & plays a more physical game. Most of the time, Marner’s linemates perform better without him.

The only reason why Kane’s stats are awful is because Colliton doesn’t know how to use him. Go check his numbers under Quenneville, see the difference. He is by far the greatest player ever.

Wayne Gretzky is the most overrated hockey player of all time. He played in an era where all the players were very weak & poor. He was not naturally gifted. Sure he racked up lots of points, but even the worst player today can achieve that in his era. Patrick Kane is a way better hockey player than him.
